good advice..

Een gramtje van Master Kush alstublieft!

Bad not to try even with my limited Dutch

I guess some working there might think of it's as the 'locals only' stash. So if you're not local you should pay a premium, like in the central shops...

I'm sure the international customers are no harm for business. So perhaps if management new that well visited forums like this one, contain public outings of shops partial to weight adjusting - then perhaps they might want to control it a bit more.

Thankfully my 0.8g of Master Kush was the shit!
Very dense redhead buds with that dank urine kush and fruit smell. Nice strong bodybuzz, but still able to operate.

young budtender at bij seems a bit shady to me the gram of SSH i bought did look suspiciously small but the buds were very dense and pissed all over cafe420's version imo. Saying that all purchases at boerejonges were of the highest grade and and looked like nice deals. went there most days at about 11ish in the morning so wasnt very busy but still a little flow of locals.the black guy in boerejongens was by far the best budtender there so try and catch him.

peace

Maybe the reason the guy was sarcastic about the "Master Kush" is b/c it most likely is not Master Kush. Seems like a nice bubblegum to me, not bad for a morning smoke for 8/g. These are real dense buds, won't look like a "normal" gram, but mine weighed fine. A buddy of mine did get ripped off here a few months ago on a 2 gram purchase - 1.7g. That person definitely is no longer there at least. Go to Bij if you're worried about the accuracy as they have electronic scales and are generally a bit friendlier if you want to look at the menu.

Glad you weren't too disappointed with the Master Kush. In retrospect I should of held off praising it so highly, but that's what being high does to me!

It's certainly nothing like Club Media's Master Kush - at all!

The budtender told me something about it being specially stored away for a year..

Sounded like a pair of bollocks to me.

I'm off to Bij now!

Haven't been here in ages but decided on a quick run to pick up some sativa while my laundry was going.

First thing I noticed was the refit to this place. They have moved the dividing glass wall so it is no longer one-third shop and two-thirds smoking room (that is closed). It is now more like two-thirds shop and one-third defunct room.

Also, the plastic menus are gone and replaced with three Dampkring-style (ex Pink-Floyd) sunken digital menus though and a new card machine too I think (dunno if it takes credit cards).

The menu looks a little different too, didn't notice many of the sativa strains before. Anyway I got some Super Silver Haze which looks good but I haven't tasted yet, and a hash joint for €3 which was pretty decent (I'm on a mission to find the best preroll/least ripoff in Amsterdam).

Anyway, here's the weird thing. The SSH was 9.50, the hash joint was 3 euros. So 12.50 total.

I watched the scales on the digital readout to make sure of not getting shorted on the bud (like people here have spoken of). The conversation went like this:

ME - een gram SSH en een hasj jointje alsjeblieft.
HIM - <measuring bud out> you like this?

I thought this was a bizarre question.

ME - yeah. maar ik heb van hier nooit gerookt (yes, but I have never smoked it here)

Then he flashed some papers at me and asked me if I wanted them, I said sure. I did think it was weird to throw me a freebie when only buying a gram of weed and a hash joint.

I did the Dutch thing and gave him money so he could give me exact notes (tip: Dutch like this).

I gave him a fifty Euro note plus a 2 Euro coin and a 50 cent coin. I would expect 40 Euro back in notes.

Instead, he did not want the coins and just took the fifty and returned me 3 tens and 1 fiver.

Now I was a little perplexed here. For some reason (despite being good at maths) I was a bit bamboozled but I knew something was wrong. There should be more change.

I was going to leave it but I interjected and told him it was total 12.50 and I only got back 35. He pointed to the 2 Euro and 50 cent coins in one hand and I said they were mine that he didn't want in the first place.

Then he pointed to my other hand which contained a 2 Euro coin. Had he given me that? I had no recollection but I gave him the benefit of the doubt, said sorry and got out of there.

I knew something was still amiss because of the 50 cent total but I felt like I had been Derren Browned! Assuming he gave me the coin, I worked out he had short changed me 50 cents. Or, to put it another way, I basically paid 50 cents for the papers which is cheaper than usual. So, all in all, I still came out up.

Still, it was a bit of a weird one. He should have given me the extra 50 cents. Maybe he had a lack of change and gave me the papers instead of 50 cents but he never mentioned this proposition. I assumed they were free as you would do if someone offers you them. Maybe, now that I think about it, it was an upsell on his part and he "sold" me them for 50 cents?? Well, he never mentioned that at the time, anytime I have been offered a pack it has always been for free. He gave them to me as if they were free and my reaction to his "gesture" was as if they were free too.

Bit bizarre. Left me a bad vibe. It's funny, I can relate to those who get pissed off with a dealer's attitude. I wasn't even stoned at the time. I WILL go back there from time to time, of course. But it still left me with a bad vibe and I have no desire to return there in the short term :( Funny how a coffeeshop experience can do that, I would never give a fuck if some guy in Albert Heijn screwed up so why the difference with a CS?

Basically, Dutch always want perfect Dutch or revert to English! A bit annoying and I ignore their attempts!

But surely if I had spoken English all along, I run the risk of the 0.7g rip-off or others, as people here say...? I would have thought that attempting in Dutch to the extent that I clearly live here, would avoid this problem.

Mind you...saying that...the cigarette store next to Rookies the other night - the little scrote tried to rip me off by "forgetting" to give me a fiver note in addition to a bunch of tens. Cheeky little cunt.

btw roker, are you Dutch?

He said, if you can't speak reasonable Dutch, don't bother trying (Which I find wrong but there you go), or you'll get fucked over...

keep trying is my footnote...

But why would someone screw someone because they speak poor Dutch? Surely that shows them to be a local resident?

I suppose they could be a tourist trying to practice their Dutch but that is like lightening striking twice in the same place :D
