I have only visited paradox once, it was a Wednesday evening and as we were heading back across Jordaan to Centrum we decided to make the detour to this highly recommended coffeeshop.

As we entered I imidatly noted that every table, every chair, every bit of space was full. A lot of the reviews I had read said how this was a nice quite shop, it definitely was not on this occasion; it was around 18:00 maybe a little latter so I guess everyone had finished work and headed for their evening biffter.

Hence we were forced to do a buy and fly, I was not overly disappointed by this as the shop looks like it could do with a lick of paint, also I did not feel the seats look all that comfortable. I really wanted to try their Turkish hash as to my knowledge I had never smoked any before. I asked the Budtender, a genuinly nice guy that must have been at least Seven foot tall, he told me that it was a real fine hash. He was showing me the €25 bag of three grams, I said I would take that one, I think it took the guy by surprise looking at his face. He then pulled out another 3 gram bag and said it looked like a better piece and he wanted me to have that one, good lad! So that was it we turned and went out into the early evening.

The Turkish was was indeed a fine smoke. To start with I could not find away through the tough exterior of the has and my first joint I simply picked of small solid chunks with my finger nail and popped them in, it seamed tough and solid a bit like the old soap bar of our childhood. That is until I smoked the joint, it was a lovely smoke, not one that was going to blow me away but I was stonned, do not get me wrong. I used this hash as my stock day time smoke for the rest of the trip. The more I got to know the thick strip of hash I had in my hand the more I liked it. I found that the Turkish can be made playable with a bit of love and attention and the warmth of the palm. I really enjoyed the Turkish and would recommend any hash lover try it for a welcome change to our usual smokes.

I think that when I visit Paradox coffeeshop again it will be in the day time so it's a little quieter and I can sit and appreciate the atmosphere. My score is lowered by the look of the shop and by the fact we could not sit down but the quality of the Hash pulls it back up to a solid 3.75/5

Paradox is a very unique and special place, possibly my favourite daytime coffeeshop. Our apartment on our last visit was closeby and I was very pleased to see it hasn't changed much in the few years since I was last there.

Got to spend several mornings (ish) chilling out there, partaking of their good drinks, toasties, friendly service and properly relaxed atmosphere. You always get such a wide range of people in there, all just quietly doing their thing and enjoying life. Its in a really nice bit of the city too.

Their menu is not huge, but the quality has always been good over the years. My companions were impressed with the PPP, while I really liked the Kandy Kush (about €12/g iirc). I also impulsively bought some Afghani hash here, my only hash purchase of the trip in the end. I'm not a great hash connoisseur but it was a very nice, smooth smoke that I enjoyed and was probably worth the price (€12 for 0.8g).

Had the finger hash from here at the start of August and it was lovely stuff. proper chill shop and cool, helpful Dutch budtender too.

Was in a few times last week, nice chilled atmosphere as always, huge dutch budtender as always. Tried the Amnesia, PPP and Kandy Kush - Amnesia being the stand out, such a happy high. Had a few cakes, excellent full body stone

So I went in here around luchtime and ordered the veggie burger, cup of tea, finger hash, 2 spakes cakes and some Thai filler weed.
The veggie burger was brilliant and the smoke out on the bench outside in the sunshine was as chill as it could be. The finger hash was pretty fine and stoney and the space cakes were really good when I popped them. Really strong effect.

Visited again this saturday morning after a lovely walk through the jordaan. Younger tall guy working, friendly in typical dutch sort of way. This is THE chill spot to be on a weekend morning. Great tunes, mellow locals vibe, great food and drinks and tasty product.

I'll just get this out first off. Finger hash is back in stock at Paradox. run over and get some. I just smoked a big blob of it as I'm finishing off my stock before leaving in the morning. Fresh green resiny smell. EXPANSIVE smoke. Burns for days. Strong hybrid stone with almost psychedelic visual effects. 9.5/10

Also got 1 g of SSH, not bad not fantastic 7/10

If iI ever make it back to Amsterdam again, this shop will be on the list.

I loved this place earlier in the year. Perfect for the loner stoner as they do small bags!
Anyone got a reasonably up-to-date menu?
The one on coffeeshopmenus.org is from Feb

An atypical and very nice place. Single in its kind.

I have there to find weeds of quality mow-low (PPP, super silver haze,…)

Good space cake but not much of effect (where I could not any more feel them considering the number of good weeds fume over the day)

Good toast and burger.

Really very nice place, I go back there to each voyage since the forum made me discover it ;)

This weekend I intend to take PPP and kandy kush or chocope.

That will depend on the quality of chocolope in Grey area
What think about it?
