They are not a CS anymore, they made the decision to sell Alcohol instead of weed in 07.

Not being a drinker is most certainly not a good reason to miss 't Nes. Apart from having an extensive selection of non-alcoholic drinks, it has an extensive collection of really cool people on both sides of the bar.

yes it is..its a great reason..stick to yer guns...we all have our reasons, right?

never been to t'Nes, so i can't comment on the place...but i CAN say that i don't like to be in bars...many (not all) people become: "Instant Asshole! ...Just add alcohol!" THEN add some weed to the equation...and...well...i've NEVER seen a coffeeshop fight...but i've seen plenty of BARfights....

Never seen any trouble in the Nes but if bars aren't your thing no real reason to go (apart from the great atmosphere and friendly patrons/staff plus you can smoke).

People who smoke THEN drink are usually fine - it's drinking a lot THEN smoking that causes problems.

Most people drink on empty bellys also! i am sure DC has had to remove the odd patron from time to time.

Yep, from time to time. Mind you, we do keep a good eye out for 'Assholes' and deal with them accordingly as soon as they decide to reveal themselves. Being more of a locals bar, it's important for us to keep the atmosphere just the way they like it all year round. Personally, I've often found it's trouble looks for trouble and unless yer interested, good staff should have that shit sorted long before it gets out of hand. As for stoners not fighting in coffeeshops, that's a myth, fights happen everywhere. Granted, less in coffeeshops than bars, but then I've yet to see the youtube clip of armed men going into an Amsterdam bar to rob, pistol whip or kidnap anybody.
