blueridge wrote:I had tried to go to Yo-Yo on several occasions only to find it closed. Well, last Thursday night (10 th June,) just after 1900, I happily strode through the door. The place was empty except for the women that run it who were back by the counter talking. I ask to see the HK and also have a look at the Amnesia Haze which it is explained to me is grown indoor but still organically. Purchase both along with a soda - no coffee as the machine had already been cleaned and I didn't bother to ask about the pie  I ask if they are staying open yet for a while and the woman says "yeah sure, you can smoke your joint."

The HK is really nice. Good taste and smooth. It didn't seem super strong but I got a real nice buzz from it. I thought it compared well with the HK from Media and at half the price (5e / gram.) I liked the Amnesia as well and after smoking a half pure joint of each I was pretty high. As I was sitting there a local woman walks in that apparently knows the other women and they talk for a bit and the woman leaves. I just start to polish off the rest of the HK joint when I see a group of men outside across the street. They are all dressed alike in some sort of uniform. Some carry clipboards and one is carrying small box by a handle attached to the top - there are five or six of them. Just as the first enters the shop and says good evening to me in Dutch, I realize that it is the Dutch Police :o I can't imagine the look on my face.

The rest of the crew file through the door and very politely wish myself and the shopkeepers good evening. All but one officer go to the back of the shop to talk to the managers. I am sitting up in the front corner opposite the door which the remaining officer has now closed and is standing nearby but not really blocking the door. On the inside I am freaking out, I am trying to think if I really have anything to worry about - I'm not too young , didn't buy too much, am not carrying too much, etc. On the outside, I somehow find the composure to just keep on doing what I had been doing. I did not want to act in any suspicious way so I just kept hitting that HK joint until it was done.

I heard the word "inventory" from the back of the shop then a moment later the older of the women came to me an said that it was time for me to leave. I said, " I understand." and gathered up my stuff. As I am leaving I hear the officer by the door say something in Dutch. I turn around and he repeats it and after the usual language arbitration I realize he is asking if I have paid my bill. I tell him yes and he nods and I walk away - now totally freaked-out.

Hopefully, it all worked out for the Yo-Yo folks. It is a really nice shop, very pleasant and comfortable like everyone says. I could do with few less police officers though
My heart was genuinely beating quite fast while I was reading this hahaha

My thought is that it was a random spot check of stock. Are they holding too much? Is everything above board? etc.

The type of check that has closed many place down in the past, and is becoming more common recently. Spot checks in Zandvoort and Haarlem have resulted in some shops being closed, maybe forever, but I'm not sure.

Hi,

Went to Yo Yo today, not just before closing time but close. I was the last customer to leave the premise.
The Haze smells fantastic but contains seeds, I will light the joint soon.
Great pear pie but no visible pear pieces (maybe this is very difficult to accomplish I don't know).
I accidently dropped my found F'shizzle lighter (with Betty Boop) in the pear juice and asked for a lighter which I promptly got, stupid of me because later I realised I had a backup lighter which was dry and warm.

Also the music was great, but there are two camera's with red lights in the smoking section. Nothing alarming I just did a bit of ping-pong with my eyes from camera to camera till it was no longer funny.

Also bought buds of the strain Majesteit. Which translates to majesty. In my case queen Beatrix.

Peace,

Ozric (Joost)

ps. also visited coffeeshop number 4 and they allowed to let me roll a joint and smoke it in the non-smoking (rolling) section. Two weird old rifles on the wall, I guess for people with short arms. Hash (Super Polm) from this shop was rolled, light and smoked in Yo Yo.

pps. the budtender in Yo Yo said as a goodbye "Yo" which I found funny because my grand mother is called like that just with the same letter as my name, anyways time for a J...t.

As a matter of fact, yes I have been hanging out there on the regular recently.

Really enjoyed the Cheese, the Shiva and Master Kush. However, the MK especially was not cured to well, in other words it was quite moist. I actually put in into a sauce pan and slowly warmed it up to dry it out.

Place is a great value for the money and if you enjoy outdoor you will love it. I would say away from the Red Lebanese though. Its not very good.

Was here last week, got 5€ deals of the
Haze - ok for the money was weak and full of seeds

Cheese - not the stinkers I'm used to but It was very organic, had been grown with hardly and food so went strong but had a nice clean taste with cheese in there

Shiva - had the nicest smell but full of seeds again

My mate got the master Kush which was the worst weed I have ever had, never had something that taste like actual shit.

Great shop tho and a awesome hang Out, very homly and open, nice bud women and
Cheap tosties!

the non smoking part is nice too , well but as it says ...the non smoking part..
