Take your pick! it has more bang for the buck than say mc`donalds for example.

febo, lekker de beste!

well I don't know about that, but their milkshakes are quite nice, and cheap too.

I was very dubious to say the least, for many years(!) and always resisted the urge to go and gorge away my munchie cravings, despite them being open seemingly at all hours (well, til 4am anyway)...

However, my addiction to all things fried won me over, and I think it was back in '92 or '93 that I weakened, and found myself absolutely blasted, trying to make sense of the menu..

<It wasn't that the menu's language or pictorial guidance was in any confusion, merely my inability to process this information.. >

Fries, Broodje kroket, Satékroket and a Milkshake ought to do the trick, I thought. Unfortunately, I realised too late that this particular kroket was definitely not to my taste (and had been duplicated in the Broodje as well!)

In retrospect, I suppose the fries were perfectly ok, and it was only the icecold milkshake working as a catalyst on the already bubbling mess which was already planning a hasty escape from my stomach that pushed things over the edge... Since then, I have realised that the best option is not to get completlely hammered on the strongest weed you can find, whilst sampling not only all the sundry street vendors' delights, such as kebabs, pizzas, donuts, more kebabs, muffins, kebabs... etc. etc. THEN drinking a lethal combination of fizzy, chilled, hot&milky, alcoholic, and assorted combinations of the above.

In other words... I learned in one night a great many lessons about mixing various substances, both recreational and nutritional, in ill-advised ways!

I digress... since then, I have frequented Febo on almost every visit with no ill-effects - I steer clear of the Satékrokets now, and favour the Kalfsvleeskrokets instead. It's cheaper than a lot of other offerings out there, and so long as you realise that it isn't Cordon Bleu dining we're talking about here, then you'll do just fine...

Splashed out at FEBO the last time I was over, Krokket thing (or Turd In Breadcrumbs as they've come to be known), burger and fries, was lovely.

The only trouble I ever had with them was the time my hand touched the side of the compartment when getting something out.

Am told this is the place to go though :

I can't resist Febo, especially the one located at Korte Niezel, I think it's called, the one near Oude Kerk in the RLD. Freshly fried chips with more than enough Mayo dolloped on the side while wandering about with munchies between pub crawls, is the best. I've worked my way through the menu, no idea what I've eaten but it tastes ok. Just don't let it get cold and try to reheat it the following day, fatal, imho.

see thats what worries me. i was on the toilet this morning paying for lasts night meal at taco bell. volcano burrito and volcano nachos..prob wasn't a good idea. i had the diariah for like a week after my amsterdam 2006 trip as a result of eating to much fast food. i dont want to know what would happen after a few days of excessive febo.. i dont even know how much febo would be excessive. those krokets look tasty though cant lie. slushys and wings too.
educating myself and waiting for the next trip.

dude try out the cheeseburger.. it has the sauce kinda like the big mac on it... and just lettuce i think .. the burger actually isnt bad at all.. i had it a few times on my last trip...

and for me.. cash wasnt tight, i was just hungry and stoned and Febo looks like the best bet in my state of mind.. after the first one i ate 2 more .... my stomach handled it ok i think.

hahah my advise is to wait until you see a fresh burger thrown up in the slots... that way you know it wasnt sitting there all day

in january ive seen the febo guy on warmoestraat pull out the old kip burgers and fill up with fresh ones for the night, before he closed the counter...

when the counter is still open, you can order the burgers at the counter and they will make a fresh one for you, i dont know if they do the same with the kroketten and kass soufflees
