strains and quality of weed in London?
used to be a regular smoker, stopped for past 6 years with exception of Amsterdam getaways. Just wondering what the weed scene is like now in London, what strains are available and whats the quality like. From my smoking days 1999–2003, I have seen everything in London, from absolute crap, decent Thai/Chocolate and other ok brown strains, absolute crap green strains masquerading as Skunk (why is anything green labeled as skunk?), OK green strains, and finally very high quality Green strains or Brown Jamaican high grade. Anyways whats the scene like these days? My cousin said cheese is quite easy to get hold of, is it real cheese or has cheese just become a buzz word to sell anything for a few £ extra? What other strains are available also, and is best avenue for top quality stuff, through the streets, high end dealers, or home growers.
Thanks

my friend who lives in London says it's all terrible, full of tiny seeds, often tainted, poorly grown, never cured, etc. However, everyone else he knows is smoking the same stuff and thinks the quality is amazing and pays well over the odds for it.
So he's reduced to MOMs, but there must be grade out there if you know the right people.

wow i stopped smoking in u.k in 2005, & it was alot cheaper than that, proper cheese was 125 an oz or less in bulk, thai was 40an oz & soap was 250a bar, good hybrid skunk was 120 an oz & outdoor skunk 80 an oz. my mates still get it for 20 an eigth for good hybrid 15 for outdoor & 25for cheese, which is stupid considering its just skunk1. prices south of river have always been dirt cheap, i was buying wwidow (the real stuff) 100an oz or 850a bar & the exact same stuff was being knocked out in east london for 170an oz & in wimbledon 180, my cousins in the west midlands also get ripped off, 10 a gram is an absolute piss take, i tell them its arip off but they dont have a choice its that or nothing
Yep here in the West midlands on the street £10 a gram and its always CheesePauli Wallnuts wrote:, my cousins in the west midlands also get ripped off, 10 a gram is an absolute piss take, i tell them its arip off but they dont have a choice its that or nothing
A nice(YEH WHATEVER) Soapbar is easily aquired at around £100 a bar
Myself i pay nothing and thats the way i like it

this is interesting actually. I'm a ways southerly of london and i pay £20 for 2.8g (a '20 bag', the days of full eighths are long gone!)
£150/oz for semi-decent home grown
As soon as anything decent turns up, which is rarely, people will want to charge £10/g. It seems that thanks to the crackdown on growing operations, less scrupulous growers are able to flog grit, wet or just plain nasty bud. This in turn has driven up the price of proper bud. What a shitty state of affairs.

True, a lot of crap from when I used to smoke. Best weed I ever got was in summer 99 when I just started, all I knew was brown seedy weed, and then my friend said he had a contact who was selling some crazy stuff called white widow( not sure if it was) but £25 for a 1/8. When I got in on it the WW was out and the seller said it was skunk, again not sure if it was, But it had a vanilla taste and was the first time I experienced the euphoria after half a spliff and complete mash out after 2nd-3rd spliff, only in Ams have I ever come across anything similar. Few months later street level dealers got in on the "skunk' thing and anything green was marketed as skunk and sold at real skunk prices, most was very shit and weaker than average thai.
2001 Northern Lights became the in thing, most was crap and some was OK.
Sporadically the 99 dealer would have some almost as good stuff, but even he would admit most the stuff he was getting hold of was weaker and he was unlikely ever to get anything as good again.

I remember being offered "Superman" Soapbar about 4-5 months ago. £800 a kg. I laughed at the guy as I didnt want any soap, he thought I was laughing at price and immedietly dropped to £600... Still didnt buy any, but I'm sure its available cheaper than that if you know better people and/or negotiate. Still, I reckon he should've paid me to smoke it... urghh. Fuck soap.Kermit wrote:Its a nine
