When I was young my older cousin Joe loved making model WW II airplanes, painstakenly painting them with authentic camo and decals. One of my fav's was a Russian Front Stuka like this one. The best part was blowing them up or burning them in pretend battles.

I love all military stuff, I don't build these models like the ones in this thread but anything military, is right up my street. I went into an antique shop near me the other day and the guy had various 100% authentic Nazi items for sale. These things are extremely collectable and very costly. The very first job I had upon leaving school was working in the general warehouse of an antique auction room and would often see these things pass through the door and people would bid ridiculous prices to own something with a Swastika/Eagle or SS stamped onto it. These things are becoming more rare and collectable. The German helmet the guy was selling near me wanted too much for it and if it had some decals on it, I may have bought it and sold it on in about 20 years for a tidy profit.

I'm always looking around Army surplus shops when I'm out and about. There's a very good one near me as the UK Royal Marine Commandos are based down where I live and all the new recruits use it to pick up some of their gear. I just bought a jacket called M65 which is a copy of the American army jacket used in Vietnam and waiting for delivery for when I'm out coastal walking. I would love a pair of NVG's one day, but these are seriously expensive for the good ones.

Nice one Trance thanks for stopping by , I'm thinking about getting into memorabelia medals and such , I seen a wicked German army MG 42 ammo box in Overloon (I kick myself that I never bought it) as ones I see online are much more expensive , I would like a ww 11 German gas mask container too  I think it would be cool to have some military stuff lying about , beside the scale models

So you will be walking around with an ammo box and wearing a gas mask the end of next month   They will charge you extra for that i think

On topic, that is very small 8)

It surprises me you don't have the odd few bits of real antique war stuff. I thought if any would, you would, what with your interest in WWII. Anyway, good luck with it all and happy hunting.
