You can get a double room in a 4* hotel for about £48 per night if you use the Name Your Own Price bidding facility at priceline.co.uk. That's the same price, or even cheaper, as booking a 1* or 2* hotel room directly.

Well folks, I really think I have found the best price and the quickest way to get there plus 3 days of sheer bliss.
I can get easyjest from Liverpool on Sunday 18th October leaving at 08.40 arriving 10.55, I will leave Amsterdam on Wed 21st at 16.40 arriving back in Liverpool. This will cost us £81.96 or £88.91 on credit card. (tut tut)
I can get one of those cabins for 3 nights costing £95.81, bringing the price to £177.77 This gets us there, 3 nights accomodation then home.
I know I said in previous posts that I can't get to Liverpool but that was for the early morning flight and not getting back untill late evening. Now that the flights are in my favour I am now able to drive, Parking at the Airport is £23.99 so all in all it'll set me back £201.76 which leaves me £298.24 of my £500 budget to spend... On what I wonder
It's taking me a couple of days but I am 100% certain I can't find anything cheaper, I will run this by the missus in the morning so hopefully this time tomorrow I'll be heading to the dam in 5 weeks.
Insular have you ever stayed in these cabins, if so what is your oppinion of them. 1st glance it seems a hippy mellow site with lots of bright colours to enhance your trip
LOL

hi There are some incredible bargains available at the moment . i am still in shock at the deal i have just got.Flight £60 return with taxes from leeds bradford. three nights in the Krasnopolsky five star hotel £42.00 per room per night. Works out at £120 for the entire trip. I have stayed at zee burg and there is nothing wronf with it quite a way out though and it cannot really compare with a five star hotel
I think someone mentioned earlier go through priceline and bid around £40 per night for a 5star in the centre you will save hundreds.Check on trip adviser Amsterdam forum there is a guy on there who monitors succesful bids and publishes them my first bid was excepted soi probably could of got it cheaper .Dont worry about the location as he also publishes what hotels are been allocated.Usually nh carlton, barbizon palace , Hilton .and the Krasnopolsky.Jet2 also have a sale on at the moment i could of got the flight for £42 if i was more flexible.
I have been going to the Dam for twenty years and am frankly sick of staying in shitholes! the stories i ,and i am sure most of could tell!.This is the second time i have used priceline .....like garlic bread its the future. plus all the money i have saved will allow me to purchase some primo weed and hash, now thats a bit of me !!!.Cheers Simon

I'm flying with easyjet from edinburgh for £53 without a suitcase or insurance. Get my Accomadation on Hotels.nl as they are always the cheapest(I do check around first but they are cheapest). So travel and Accomadation for me and my mates is about £155 each Including spending money for 3days is about £350 - £400 all together each.

I've done it, all booked up thanks to some great tips from you fellow smokers.
Wife and I leave Liverpool on Sun 18th and return Wed 21st, £101 with insurance
I decided to try that priceline and fired in £30 for a 4* superior and 5* hotel, this was refused

but it came back stating it's found one for £45 per night, it didn't state if this was 4 or 5 but I thought I couldn't go wrong with £45 so went for it not knowing what to expect
I got the Nh Amsterdam centre for £154 for 3 nights (taxes included). So all in all £255 for 3 nights/4 days.
I clicked on the website and for a superior room it would cost £511 and for the standard room it will be £418, so even on the basis of the standard room I have saved £264 and if I have swung the superior it'll be £357.
The main question is, Is it near any good coffee shops
