Yes. Strategy elements. They only contain elements of strategy, not strategy itself because they are made for kids.

I have undertaken a little re-structuring of this post, for stylistic purposes, mainly.
Trichome_Dense wrote:Gotta laugh at uneducated responses like the one I quote.
I particularly like the way you start off calling my opinion 'uneducated', when you go on to say...
Trichome_Dense wrote:Shame we're all ready to flame after only 3 or 4 posts though
I'm truly sorry that you identify so strongly with your choice of games console that you consider a slight on that console to be a 'flame', but ...
Trichome_Dense wrote:this forum is not about that is it now muckypup ;)
... evidently it is not as holy as you'd like to believe.
Trichome_Dense wrote:The average age of a PS3 owner is 28, more stats? ok - a male, has a partner and works a 9 to 5... this is also Sony's main target audience for their beloved PS3.
I'd be interested to correlate those statistics against research aimed at ascertaining the average IQ of that audience, perhaps also bringing in reference to their social class (I suggest we utilise the socio-economic class definitions utilised by, inter alia, the Office for National Statistics in their dataset 'Socio-economic classification of working-age population, summer 2003: Regional Trends 38').

Dunno man, would you say fallout, GTA, Gears of War, God of War, Halo etc are kids games? There is obviously some games aimed at a younger audience, Tony Hawks perhaps? But the same is true of the PC gamers, Theme Hospital is a PC game, hell solitarie is a PC game but i wouldn't say all PC games are for kids, therefore the PC is a platform for kids.

I think its obvious that a wide range of age groups own a Xbox, so it would make buisness sense to try and appeal to all, rather than just some of the audience. Hence the appearance of slightly more ' child friendly ' games appearing on all consoles.

muckypup has only a few posts on ACD but has nearly 5000 on the channels. He is here to have "fun" because Kingdoc mentioned him in his post about channels. The channels is a great forum and full of "characters" with muckypup being one of the more tame ones. The forum is funny although tiresome, it's like tag-team slagging.
For those who are unfamiliar with mucykpup and the channels here are a few recent random quotes from muckypup. i maybe sad but not sad enough to trawl through all of his highlights;

"I even made my first post to ACD since joining in 2007. With Boner as mod, it was never going to be around for long...
...were those fuckers not such a collection of fucking pansies, that one could have run and run..."

"If you'd care to look in the Amsterdam, Coffeeshop and Trip Report forums, you'll find, they get along just fine posting rundowns on which weeds have a 'citrusy' taste, and which give a 'light indica buzz'. Personally, I think they're wasting their time and that after two spliffs and a skinfull of booze, it all tastes the fucking same and makes everything look a bit hazy, but each to their own. They get left alone to do what they like in peace. I just wish pansy crybabies like you would extend those who like a bit of light-hearted banter the same courtesy. "

"ACD fucktard"

"You need to go fuck youself as soon as ever possible. Preferably with a broom handle. With a fucking nail through the end."

"To be honest, I'd rather they didn't. Upsetting complete cunts pleases me greatly."

"When you've been to Amsty as many times as we have, you'll find talking about it every day gets a bit boring. When we get bored, we start kicking the shit out of each other. It's fun."

"I've been trolling for many years. During that time, I've been blamed for meltdowns, for people leaving forums and for generally ruining people's fun."

The posts were taken out of context so maybe misleading. He's a WUM and proud of it. I have played into his genius hands by responding but at least some of the ACD members now know what a nice guy he is

Oh, fucking charming. I come here thinking it's going to be a nice forum, ask a question about travel, enter a discussion on a wholly inconsequential topic and all I've received thus far is a statement that I should be headbutted and murdered, and had published a collection of out-of-context quotes from someone obsessed enough to toil through my posting history on Channels in order to show what a horrid little man I am.

Most of the quotes you point to above are from a thread where I am lambasting one of your own forum members for anonymously posting threats to reveal someone's home address if she did not stop posting on ACD. My actions and my words were completely justified.

I really do think it would do some of you lot some good to look in the mirror, remove the chips from your shoulders, and shove them up your arses. Nicely, of course. This is, after all, ACD, and everyone's got to be nice...

I have been made to feel very welcome since my arrival, and have no idea why you think I'd want to do that. I enjoy reading so many people's posts here - especially those by you, Kingdoc and Bonglord that I don't think I could tear myself away.

On account of my being an adult male, if I am to play a game, it would clearly have to be utilising a keyboard and mouse - the only acceptable gaming platform for adult males since, oooh, about 1996.

Yes.
Dude they are games i would not let under 18's play, with the possible exception of Halo due to shit A.I. I think the certificates on the rest are 18. I thought Fallout was definatly not child friendly game with many ways to complete. But as i said before theres ' kids games ' on all consoles.

No one has to be nice on ACD, we choose to be. You enjoy your banter on channels, thats fair enough, we enjoy this mellow piece of internet. i would go futher and say its not always nice here, we just choose to express our disagreements without name calling etc.
