ELEPHANTS............... OCT 12th -14th

Post by hulldj »

October 12th to October 14th

ELEPHANTS.............
Started off a usual Sunday night Dj’ing. Not a bad night had by all. Finished at 2 am, got paid and made my way home. It took me all day to sort my rucksack out, you know the score... find some socks, have a smoke, find some pants, have a smoke, iron tshirts, have a smoke.. you get the idea. Anyway, bag packed, toiletries in a plastic bag, Rolling mat and Rizla silvers sorted. Made it home for 2.30 am. Pick up my bag, kissed the missus goodbye and set off to collect the Boys.

The trip to LBA was uneventful, Cruise control is a godsend ;)
Two of us stopped at security for liquids, robbed of aftershave and some hair gel, Oh well, we’re off to Amsterdam..... We can buy some there...
Plane set off on time and we arrived into Schipol to glorious sunshine.
Got our return train tickets to save hassle on Wednesday morning.
This trip we managed to get the correct train.

Headed off to Greenhouse Effect to see if our apartment was ready yet and stopped at Hunters, (the one on the same side as Greenhouse Effect) I bought a gram of the Super silver Haze, Nycd and a Hot chocolate with Loads of cream. The SSH was 13 euro i think but was a really nice smoke, easy on the throat unlike the Big budda Cheese Paul bought. Stayed here for a while then headed to GHE. here Luckily the room was ready for us.. (9.00 am not bad) Grabbed some Amnesia Haze from here. For 13 euro less our discount. We were booked into the Attic Suite 5 mins walk from GHE, then 5 mins walk up them stairs. Be warned... the stairs are steep and its a long way to the Attic. The apartment was cosy and both the boys agreed it would serve us well for the couple of days we are here.

We chucked our bags in, rolled up the NYCD and last of the SSH and Cheese and Tricky decided to get the hoover out and clean up the apartment. Under the cushion on the two seater sofa was a load of graffiti... One comment was .... You there in the Blue..... WATCH OUT!!... I was the only one in Blue and was well crushed from the SSH so paranoia hit me for about 5 mins till I managed to laugh it off.

The NYCD was again a lovely smoke but cannot say much more than this as the SSh and bb cheese were stull messing with my head.

Apartment was clean now and we had run out of smoke so time to head out. Kadinsky was just round the corner so I popped out and got a gram of the Jack Herer for 8 or 9 euro . I’ve always liked the JH and usually get some from somewhere when I’m there. Took the JH back to the apartment and rolled a couple and got ready to go out.

Things now start to get a little blurry but luckily I have some photos to kinda trace our steps.

This takes us to around 10.15am.

More to follow..............

In the meantime, can you work out where we are sat in the following video?

So munchies had set in... We hadn’t eaten at the airport.... time to eat.
Tricky and Paul decided they fancied Wok 2 Walk on Leidsplein!! (bearing in mind we are staying at the bottom of Nes) Buzzing from the smoke we set off, with the intention of getting the tram, I think it was decided that we couldn’t handle the tram yet, so walked in what we thought was the right direction. This is where we encountered our first elephant. Thinking it was due to the smoke we soldiered on.

We decided to take a break and light up something we had rolled at the apartment.

The pidgeon seemed to appreciate our short stop. We felt we were close so set off again, after a little bit of walking we managed to find a Wok to Walk for the boys and some chips and mayo for me from a little stall right round the corner. Looking straight ahead I recognised one of the entrances to Leidsplein... We had made it. Sat and ate in the square outside the old police station while watching a guy selling a tennis practice thingy. He was very good and attracted our stoned attention for a while... The ball bouncing on a string, back and forth, back and forth.. the sound of the thumping tennis ball hitting the bat then the floor...

Anyways, Rookies was our designated stop and had no problem in finding it. Straight to the counter and Tricky and I grabbed a gram of the Special for about 10 euro, a pear looza and then seated ourselves outside. The special smoked lovely and set us in the mood to try and make it on the tram back to Dam Square.

Next to Rookies is a nice little convenience store so we topped up with bread, cheese and drinks. A nice stroll to the square and we are met by the Tram to Central Station. We hopped on and I assumed Tricky had paid for me, as it stood, none of us paid. We made it to Dam Square before realisiing we wanted to be off on the previous stop. Oh well, we went and used our discount at the GHE to buy some of their Amnesia Haze and headed back to the apartment. The cheese toasties made in the grill thing back at the apartment hit the spot and we all crashed out for an hour or two.

Just a note on Dam Square, When we first passed by Dam Square we were disappointed to see that there was nothing on. No big wheel, no Darth Vadar, on the morning of our departure a fairground seemed to have appeared out of no where!!
