Ok this was my second trip to everyone's favourite city and I was travelling with an A'dam first timer, who was gutted not to have gone when I visited originally.
Anyway our flight was delayed until 7:50am but we wanted to get an early flight to make the most of each day we had.
We landed, got the train to Centraal Station and a taxi ride to our hotel, that was located right on the Leidseplein. It was nothing glamorous, but it was cheap having found it on hostelbookers.co.uk (thanx Boner for the link)
We had dropped our bags off by 11:20am and headed up Leidsestraat, passing Rokerij, Dolphins, de Dampkring, fighting off the temptation just to walk straight into one of them, but we had already agreed Amnesia would be our first stop. We walked in buzzing with excitment and greeted with a big smile from the female bargirl, we bought a coke and 1g of Mango Haze for 11euro, eagerly skinned up and finally all the planing and anticipation paid off "we are here!!"
The mango haze had a a great high and left us grinning for ages, was a little disappointed coz I could have swore Amnesia had computers on my last visit (I wantd to give you guys a heads up) but it didn't matter.
After an hour or so we set off to explore for a while, with the trusty ACD map in pocket. We got somethng to eat and crashed back at the hotel and watched a bit of TV.
For the evening we decided to head round the corner to Dolphins and bought 1g of White Dolphin, very smooth smoke, and we loved the downstairs sofa area, couldn't believe everyone else was sitting upstairs in those uncomfortable looking plastic chairs, we spent a couple of hours down there, with Bob Marley on the stereo, also met a group of young travellers from Birmingham, like myself, which was a nice surprise. Crashed back at the hotel eventually after buying some Ben+Jerry's. and just chilled for the rest of the evening, smoking out the window ,watching MTV. Eventually the early start caught up wth us and we fell asleep....happy!
