Wanting a bed for myself and 2 mates sometime in Feb. Extremely tight budget however, so looking for the cheapest place possible to stay.
Not really fussed if the place is a bit rough or whatever, as it's just gonna be used for a few hours kip in the early hours every day. Will be out and about most of the day.

Cheapest Bad in Town?
Isn't that quite a way from the centre though? I'm not too clever with navigating the tram system off my face. must admit its always better to stay in town but got a 2 man cabin 3 nights 90 euros. looked for cheap hotels they seemed to be 110 single 170 for twin. hostels are worth a go but but we had to share with 4 nutters off their faces on mushroom and who knows what else, wouldnt do it again

To each their own. And if you are happy with a small single room in a 2 star for $61 USD a night then I am happy for you. thanks for your good luck wishes albeit sarcastic,i've stayed in a few dumps over there but i wouldn't mention that to someone that had already booked,but thats just me.

Although I doubt that you have pre paid for your room and could cancel if you wanted. The advice was actually for others who may be thinking about staying in AMS and are wondering what a good value is.
In truth $61 for a 2 star single is quite high. Even with the exchange rate being what it is. Especially considering the 4 and 5 star double rooms people have been getting this year for not that much more money.
But I assume you did your research and are getting exactly what you want.

I've got to have a tv and breakie and this was the cheapest i could find,perhaps i didn't look hard enough.
I've done the 3-4 star thing and on every occassion i've wondered why i spent so much on a dump,with the exception of dicker thys(or something like that)
as for the stairs...i'll be flying anyway
