OK,first off the username has absolutely nothing to do with the artist.
Secondly i don't like heavy metal.
I'd like to start by saying sorry to the guy at the top of the page i was totally harsh and i assumed alot.
It is a romantic idea trying to bring the Dam to the UK,but thats all it is.
Holland is unique ,it is heaven on earth .And much as i would like it to,wouldn't work in the UK.That is why personally i wouldn't waste my time campaigning to have the same here.I am not being negative just realistic.
I am certainly not lookin for a ''futile argument'' either, forums are all about and exist for ppl to give opinions and that is what i did admittedly harshly for which i regret. As far as i'm concerned what happens in the Netherlands should stay there and u know what in a way i'm glad it does.
Cos lets face it ,us EU guys are so lucky being able to fire over anytime we want unlike our yank friends whom i don't envy.Personally speaking was there in Nov,April and headin out in Sept ,lifes better when uv got a trip booked.Which i allways make sure i have.lol
Also many of the guys on the forum are cool as u know, but can anyone say they would totally trust them until they meet them.So to set something like a private club up and invite them into ur gaff, then finding out there mentalists would be a bad scene to say the least.
Personally i would keep decking the flat out but keep it to friends then play it by ear.
A much safer option i think.

''The ideas off anyway as this proves u only need 1 bad egg 2 spoil things 4 every1 else''

One more thing, the ideas off not cos i'm a bad egg and spoiled it,its cos u know deep down it is not realistic to say the least. And was probably only ever a dream to begin with.

I LOVE Eek-a-Mouse!!!! The song 'Uptown Dread' brings back fond memories (very hazy at that) of sitting in De Oude Kerk coffeeshop late one night in the Red Light District - I just have a smoke, close my eyes and I am there again.......or I could just wait 19 days and relive it for real :D

Firstly, let's please try to avoid being unnecessarily offensive, especially towards fellow members. A forum is for debate and stating opinions but there’s no need to be disrespectful. Free speech requires individuals to take responsibility for their freedom.

Secondly, we need people with a “can do”, positive, optimistic, trusting attitude to make anything happen. There would not be coffeeshops in the Netherlands now if it weren’t the attitude of the pioneers there 30 years ago. The present Dutch authorities would not tolerate the coffeeshops if they were not already well established. The experience of the coffeeshops in places like Stockport and Bournemouth was that if they were discreet the police were inclined to leave them in peace. Only when the shops got too much media publicity did the police feel pressure to uphold the law by busting them.

Lastly, I love old dub reggae. Scientist and Prince Fari for me. Has anybody else come across “Dub Side of the Moon”?

did u regard my comments as offensive?
also i ain't being negative but no matter how positive u are it ain't happening in the UK.
i just choose not to kidd myself on ,thats all.
A shop without a product in my eyes is pointless .
Dolphins got away with it cos it was surrounded by ones that did.

I think my dad might have Dub Side Of The Moon, or a couple tracks from it at the very least...

If you are a fan of Dub Reggae.......I would also recommend the Easy Times coffeeshop.

It had some (very load) cool dub on the speakers when I was there over new year, wish I could have stayed longer that day - but am certainly looking forward to getting a buzz in there come a few weeks!

I'm not a massive fan of dub or reggae (not as much as Tommy or our dad, anyway), it's just something that's alright to listen to when smoking.

Personally I prefer either some happy hardcore (preferably all the cheesy rave cover versions!) or some tasty metal (Bal-Sagoth), but those two genres aren't to everyone's taste when stoned! Can't get any further apart than happy hardcore & death metal, eh?

Valo, I notice from your avatar that you're a HIM fan. I haven't heard a lot of theirs but I really liked 'Funeral Of Hearts'. Shame that annoying berk Bam Margera seems to be sponsored by them. You've probably heard of MortIIs already, but if not, go & search out 'Parasite God', it's a brilliant hybrid of goth, rock & `80's-style electronica, I forgot what the albums called (even though I used to have it!), but 'PG' is the first track on it & should have been a massive single.

I wouldn't say i'm a huge reggae fan either - just goes really well with some awesome green. And now brings back memories of Amsterdam, which can never be a bad thing.

Obviously HIM are my favourite band! Bam can be a bit much at times but I find his shows real funny. But I have two sides to my music taste - an older hippy side (mainly John Lennon, Neil Young & Jefferson Airplane) but also new(ish) goth/punk/metal music - especially bands from Scandinavia (like HIM but also Turbonegro, The 69 Eyes & Lullacry). Pretty mad combination - but a couple other of my favourite bands would be Iron Maiden, Ramones, Offspring & CKY.

I will stop there before I turn this into a music forum...as I could go on for ever!

Will check out the Mortiis album too - I have a couple of random songs by him which are pretty good.

'Viva La Bam' is hilarious, though obviously scripted, unlike 'Jackass'. Having said that, 'VLB' wouldn't be anything without Don Vito, he makes the show what it is, otherwise it'd just be Bam being horrible to his friends & family & not getting many laughs.

Funny you should mention Turbonegro, I downloaded 'Turbonegro Must Be Destroyed' only about 3 days ago. I was determined to find it from somewhere since I saw the 'VLB' episode where Bam & April compete doing community service.

Oh yeah, the Mortiis album's called 'The Smell Of Rain', I remembered about 2 minutes after posting my last message!

HaHa - I agree about Don Vito, he is the funniest guy ever without even knowing it. Brandon DiCamillo is funny too, especially his spoof songs - has a couple of homemade albums on the net too!

I found that Mortiis album too, should have it in a while. If you like that Turbonegro song, 2 albums you must find are Apocalypse Dudes and Scandinavian Leather - I think they are awesome.

Can't believe I forgot to add Bloodhound Gang to my list earlier....but they are more comedy value I find, with some catchy tunes.

Brandon's funny, you're right, I always used to like his silly voices on 'Jackass'. I don't think he gets as much air-time as he deserves on 'Viva La Bam', hence why Vito is the star of the show. I wouldn't mind checking out the albums you mentioned (plus the ones from CKY); I don't tend to buy CDs anymore, but I'm always willing to give a bargain a chance!

If you haven't heard the Sheffield metal band Bal-Sagoth, give them a go, they're one of my favourites at the moment. The lyrics are really conceptual & Tolkien-esque, which admittedly isn't always to my tastes, but the musical arrangement on some of the songs is amazing, & with titles like 'Behold, The Armies Of War Descend Screaming From The Heavens', they provide a wee bit of, albeit unintentional, comedy value!

Someone else I know mentioned Bal-Sagoth to me the other day, I only remember the name because I thought he mumbled 'Black Sabbath' to me - but I will have a look for some of there stuff for sure now.

They're great, trust me. I would say they're probably my favourite band at the moment, though I've had many favourites over the years.

My favourite band for years used to be New Order, I liked `em since I was at school, but the new album is totally rubbish & the last one wasn't exactly mind-blowing, either. Shame really, one of the most influential & inventive bands of the 1980's & early `90's have become blander than a sandwich with no filling.

if u like these two music types have u heard of a band called 'nightbreed'? they have fused metal with dance and they have done it well. their biggest single so far would have be pack of wolves.
