was in dam last weekend and ate a few breakfasts out
as the VIJAYA HOTELs toaster was broken !! can u believe this,
the breakfast at this hotel is crap and i stay there a bit,

we ate at stones bar, full english which comes with 3 bacon, 2 eggs, 2 sausages, toast, mushrooms and 173 beans, this costs 8.50 euros. so nice we done this place twice

we also ate at susies saloon, sausage toastie (gorgeous) 3.50 euros

bonus with both places is you can smoke a joint and a drink a beer to wash it down ....perfect start to the day

we had a barneys breakfast the trip before but they always overload the food with salt, (they say everyone complains about it ....hmmm, perhaps just dont add the salt would be a good option for them), nice place but food overpriced here,

wondering if anyone knows anything about picasso's coffeeshop which apparantly does you a free breakfast ???? till 12 noon, we went past but it was closed?

please dont use the cake shop called L'AMOUR (red light area) the blokes a creep, charges you different every visit, and food not that great, he charged us 3.50 euro for a large bag of crisps that were 1.50 in shops, and tried to charge me 7 euro for a muffin !!!!
AVOID HIM

enjoy all.....i am so envious now that i have just come back

just chilling .....

I can recommend Picasso. It's better than a continental (meat, cheese, bread), and it's free if you buy 10E worth of pot or hash.

It was a great way to start the day

Popeye's do a good fry-up....sausage, bacon, eggs, beans...etc for 8euro. And they serve it until 2:00pm, which I found very handy....  Bright and open shop with friendly staff.

The irish bar (o'reillys?) on paleisstraat does a good fry. just round the corner from the big Albert Heijn behind Dam sq.

I will probably draw some silly comments for this but is there anywhere that does a good veggie breakfast? Like veggie quorn sasuges ect.... They are quite common in the Uk now so I was just wondering how things have moved on in Amsterdam as it's been a while since I went. I don't mind having pastries for breakfast but thought id ask anyway.

Greenhouseactually has several veggie options: veggie omelettes, wraps, and burgers. Not sure about quorn sausages tho.' Menu can be found on their website.
Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.

I think Quorn is made in the Netherlands. It's actually a good tasting meat alternative made from shrooms.

I was wrong, looks like it comes from the UK. We don't see too much of it over here.
