I visited LA this summer and the Marijuana scene is absolutely out of control. Almost more in your face than in Amsterdam.

Walking down Venice beach you have people on the boardwalk soliciting everyone walking by with a "Smoke weed legally NOW, get your marijuana card in 10 minutes" and it was true. In and out in 10 minutes. then you visit the Kush club house and enjoy the hash bar while overlooking the ocean and beautiful people in bathing suits.

The LA weekly free news paper has pages and pages of small colorful ads for the pot clubs with coupons etc...

The quality of the smoke is as good as it can be. Properly cured and all certified organic and they seem to be fairly strict about the cleanliness of the grow rooms and how it is handled.

They know how to do it all perfectly and the card hurdle isn't much of a hurdle at all. Definitely worth a visit. We rented a mustang convertible and drove from San Francisco to Los Angeles then down to San Diego. LA was far for the most pot friendly.

I'm seriously considering moving to California to get my doctors recomendation. It looks way too easy to get a doctor to sign for you. I have a herniated disc in my back and am fairly certain I would qualify. The only problem would be picking the right doctor so I wouldn't waste money on a failed evaluation. That and the states 10% unemployment rate.

...and that technically you could probably starve to death in the US! Weirdly.

At these clinics, you don't pay if you don't pass. The doctor pretty much asks you if you have trouble sleeping or pain or appetite and you just say yes. He writes you up. You pay 160$.

I stayed with 5 guys in OC last month and I was shocked when I saw what they were growing indoors. In UK, this sort of thing needs a bud box, carbon filter etc... but 1000w light and 6 plants! Nothing else, and it was looking nice at 5 weeks.

If you have a medical card you are entitled to grow up to 6 plants legally at home. Is Cali the best place in the World?? I am seriously considering moving there, and if the legalisation comes into effect like everyone there thinks it will it becomes paradise in the sun!!!

Kacey did you try the Lemon Wreck??? I couldn't find any while I was there, but need that in my life!

Nope. Not necessary. I did not bother getting my card since i was only there for 2 days and everyone i know out there has their card. I wasn't gonna spend 160$ for the card when they all had tons of the finest smoke already.

My friend that I visited is Canadian but is working temporarily for a graphic arts company in Santa Monica, he has his card. It's a joke.

I was trying to get as much info as possible and I told the guy at the doctors office that I was Canadian. He told me it makes no difference where i live, just that the card is only valid in California.

Cali is as close to heaven as possible. It's actually hard for me to decide if my next pot trip will be to the DAM or to LA.

None of the guys I was with had Lemon wreck. Sounds tasty.

This is why I'm going every week end to look for a condo.
The L.A. scene has gotten a little out of hand compared to the rest of the state and they are considering putting a cap on the number of clinics they are going to allow.

the way you phrased it made it sound like YOU had gotten a card and i would really like to hear from someone with medical records who does NOT live in CA. but has been able to get a card just by going to the clinics in your fine PIX.

Not quiet that easy. Two very specific requirements
First easy to get , which is the medical, the second is a state issued I.D. card, either a drivers license or picture I.D., which requires some proof of residence, utility bill, rent receipt, etc.
This link has both the California laes and the laws specific to San Diego County, which is where we are looking to purchase.
