Im not sure TBH but it is probably one of the several things about where or how its grown and collected gives it a complete different buzz to other hashes, it must be more than just its hand rubbed that does it...Ive been there in my youth, and the Himalayas both on the indian side and in Nepal are very special places, and there is something magical about the plants growing in the mountains. In Nepal we found a 7' beauty growing wild and dried it on our rucksacks as we trekked to Annurpurna base camp, it was a righteous smoke. Never got offered or saw any charas in over a month throughout nepal, but was piss easy to get in North India. Most of what is called Charas in Dam is not really the real McCoy I suspect, but I shall find out on my next trip. I want my next Hash Oddesey to look in Dam for my namesake, real Temple balls, and Charas, and Black Widow and Silver Haze for a change..I will keep you posted :D :D

i remember reading somewhere of a grower in switzerland (some of you might know who im talking about he's quite famous on the outdoor scene) he grows loads of marijuana, & he's found that the higher up the alps he grows, the larger the thc glands, but alot smaller buds

I am due to receive some Indian charas today, amongst other fine imported hashes, but in the UK not Amsterdam unfortunately so I can't help with shops where to buy it (although Katsu is a good bet). Once I have it I will take some pics anyhow & will upload for those who like hash pics, my camera isn't great & I'm not a photographer be warned the quality of the pics won't be brilliant.

Well I got the Charas, I always understood it to mean handrubbed hash from the himalayas wich is of a reasonable quality.

This example I got has a soft texture but with the tiny bits of fibre visible which Templeball mentioned. It is quite smooth and has a great spicy flavour. The buzz is nicely there, but is in the background allowing me to get on with doing other things.

I also got some Caramella for those who are interested in these pics, very nice hash. It came as a 10g egg which makes you wonder how exactly was it imported! It's beautifully blonde inside, with a clean consistency.

Whilst im posting up photos of my purchases, I also received a nice bit of dark Moroccan, it is really soft in your hand and when broken open has a great cakey texture and floral smell. The taste is full on and the potency high.

Well, I also got a little bit of Afghani hash, its also quite soft and has a nice gooey texture inside. The flavour is nice and spicy and the hit is what you would expect.

Thats some nice looking caramello, and ditto the dark morrocan and charas, is the dark maroc stronger than the caramello do you think?

Thanks, the dark maroc is a fair bit stronger than the caramelo but is a different buzz, I love them both equally but in different ways. It also bubbles slightly under a flame and is really soft even when it's cold. If I really did have to pick a favourite of the above 4 it would be the dark maroc but it would be hard to pick, as they are all top notch.

Hope everyone gets as lucky as I did for Xmas!!

indian charas

Post by sHrOoMz »

Hey,
I have seen indian charas growing wild and it is killer indeed better than nepali or afghan im sure as i have been smoking indian nepalese and afghani charas for a decent time... it is stored under normal temperature and i have never heard them storing it in a special place like sheep's stomach, i also noticed that if you are in the higher altitude it is hard but when you reach plains in india it gets softer and in indian summers where weather is around 40 its almost melting and then it needs to be stored in a refrigerator or in a room with ac on around 20 degrees not more.. come to india my friends and i will make you smoke and spliff which you will never forget in life..:D
happy smoking..:D

whos had real charas very recently in dam?

Post by templeball »

Q. Who in recent weeks has succeeded in finding charas on a menu, and was it the real thing or just indian hash pretendingly called charas?

I know someone recently lodged a travelogue saying they bought it but werent sure if it was the real deal, any others here found it? As Im arrive in under a month now I could really do with knowing this as this is the only type of black hash I havent managed to pin down a couple of sources for. We left this thread a while ago with just barneys having something called charas, but thats as far as we have got I think. In return I will buy it and make a thorough report...

BTW charas is the worlds best natural (i.e outdoor) wake and bake, its nature's little bowl of muesli :)

It was my pal wot bought it TB, it came from any day. I said it looked the real deal, it had little fibrous bits when pulled apart. I wouldn't say i was an expert, but it was a very similar looking piece of hash to what i was told was charras many years ago. Never got to smoke any last week though, it went straight in a jiffy.
