My understanding is that the cards are only good in the state they are issued in.
I feel that if we want to see cannabis legal we need to be willing to do certain things.
If you live in a state that has Medical Marijuana laws and you qualify as a patient then apply and register.
Become a member of Normal and MPP.
Contribute to Normal and MPP if you can.
If your state does not allow Medical Marijuana or it is not decriminalized work to wards making it happen.
Sorry old 60's activist here.

On my way to work this morning as I was listening to NPR, the station mentioned this broadcast was sponsored by one of the local dispensaries.

I've paid close to $20 a gram, sometimes I might get a deal for buying more. It can be quite a bit cheaper in Denver, from what I hear. Also, realize that you're buying medicine, so the whole purchase scenario is quite different from a coffeeshop.

Understand that its medication thats why im asking how it works ? i dont think i made the question clear ! my bad !
So how does the system work ? you go in tell them your symptoms then get advice whats good ? then how does the price structure work ?
Thanks for any help its really interesting to know ! i just wish the Scottish , British governments would have the balls to do something similar ! i know a few years back there were some trials into THC but i dont know the outcome and im sure it was prob pharma based !
Peace out Cisco

You walk in the lobby and ask to see the bud room. If it's small, like the place I went last week, you wait until it's your turn. You don't have to tell them your symptoms, but they will be happy to match up symptoms with a strain they have. The last shop I went to I waited my turn, sat down at a desk, filled with glass jars of bud, opposite the budtender and said "So can I just pop the lids off and smell" he says "sure", or something like this. I asked what the price range was and he said between $15 and $20 per gram. I said I had $55, and asked if he could give me an eighth for that. He said "OK." That's it. Not really like going to a pharmacy if that's what you mean.

I thought I'd update this to say I will NOT be renewing my card. I just didn't feel like shelling out the extra dough this year and besides I've been getting better weed than I usually get at the dispensaries, for a helluva lot cheaper. If I lived in or near Denver it might be worth it. Now that Obama is cracking down on Cali dispensaries and the municipal governments are limiting new shops it really doesn't seem worth it either.
