You have been posted on the November Whos In Town page.

You can see who else may be in town during your stay.

Watch for Toke & Talks, I post them up to the last minute.
Or post one of your own. All I need is a date, time, and coffeeshop to post it.

By default I link your posting to your profile page here on ACD.

https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/forum/profi ... file&u=177

I can change it to a web link ( myspace, facebook, personal page )
or an email address if you want.

You can do a little practice shopping on the Coffeeshop Menus page.
Any with arrows are less than six months old.

Enjoy

Is it worth paying the few euros just to get into the expo without a full judge's pass?

No way I'll ever pay 250 Euros for a pass but if the expo is interesting then why not 30 Euro or whatever it is.

Blimey, I must be the only one here out of the huge group that's in town over the CC who's mainly going for the pubs and beer sampling. I'll have a smoke of course, but bars/pubs is more of an attraction than sitting in a coffeeshop drinking milkshake through a straw....lol

Each to their own. I think you took this personally and that was not the intent USBL.

I just personally find it more fun and sociable in good old bars and pubs meeting the locals on spec. Many go to sample weed and that's fine, I like sampling the myriad of beers and was lightly joshing at myself, I seem to be the only one here doing this. I'll still have some smokes and no doubt bump into some of you still, just saying I like bars and for me, it was a sad day when alcohol was taken out of certain coffeeshops, imho. I guess this was what I was trying to say, regarding the alcohol ban in coffeeshops, I like both weed and beer.

Bang on. This is exactly what I do. I dip in and out of coffeeshops but on the whole I prefer stumbling across bars/pubs, especially the really old ones with unusual beers I've yet to sample.

I think people are definitely more social in bars too, obviously the booze helps but I think people expect to chat to strangers in a bar too.

I was in a coffeeshop yesterday and I like to strike up conversation. Often, people are nice. But there are many, especially girls in a group, who think that any guy on his own trying to strike up conversation is some kind of fucking weirdo.

I was trying to chat to a couple of chicks from Scotland yesterday and I swear that they just ignored me when I was doing nothing other than being polite and making conversation. I was extremely tempted to tell them that they are ambassadors for their country and they ought to have brought their manners with them on their journey. But I thought, what's the point?

When I first got here, I was an exclusively coffeeshop only person. I barely drank 10 beers in the year before that. But I drink beer much more regularly now and like the smoker friendly bars.

Only shame about smoker friendly bars is that not many of them have a wide selection of really amazing beers. I'm happy enough with cold Heinies though :D

You're absolutely right about the smoker friendly bars and not much of a selection of beers, but the saving grace is at least you can have a beer, regardless if it's a bog-standard, weak Heineken, I agree with you, but there aren't many of these places about.

Years ago, Amsterdam was much better when you could buy beer in a coffeeshop, De Kuil was a great place for this and another favourite was Hill Street Blues (due to the great music) However, as soon as I've had a joint in a coffeeshop nowadays, I find myself outside and next stop is a good bar/pub, if I'm completely honest.

I've had far better times and talked to loads of different nationalities in bars/pubs on spec than in coffeeshops and lets face it, generally the local Dutch don't really hang out in coffeeshops which is more of a tourist thing.

If all coffeeshops were to close Amsterdam, I would still visit the city as I have a real affinty towards those top bar/pubs dotted about and the general vibe of the entire city and what better place to attain all this, than in quality local bars.

I know it's a common hackneyed phrase, but each to their own and I'm just mearly talking out loud in this thread as loads of us are there from ACD at the same time and just stating what I'll be doing, no more, no less.

Have a good trip everyone, whatever your thing is.
