Body scanners to go into use at Heathrow
3rd January, 2010
British Prime Minister Gordon Brown says full-body scanners are going to be introduced at all of Britain's airports.
They will first be installed at Heathrow, Europe's busiest airport, he said.
A few days ago the Netherlands introduced mandatory body scans on all flights to the United States, causing the UK prime minister
to announce all passengers throughout the kingdom would eventually have to submit to a full body scan.
Italy has also announced it will introduce body scans in Rome and Milan.
The moves have come after a Nigerian man tried to blow up a plane from Amsterdam to Detroit on Christmas Day.
