Ya except in Ottawa it's -20 for months. It's like going skating on the ice in december out here. No thanks...

I have been on the rideau canal and it is pretty cool...especially during the carnival.
I'll be in AMS next week. I'll bring my skates! ;)

We'd love to have you. However... As nice as the pics look, -30degrees ain't so great. Summer is the time to visit to truly appreciate the country.

never saw anyone skating but on tram 2 round about museum square whilst heading to central to come home i saw a guy in the middle of a canal bouncing on the ice to test how thick it was.... tried to take a quick pic but batteries packed in. if it had been any other day id have jumped off the tram to join him in his idiocy. im a clown like that.

They didn't freeze over for 10 years and now, 2 years in a row, I'm so jealous.

Skating on the Rideau is truly primo. The beavertail shack in the one picture is where I like to hang out.

The Queen is coming For canada day in Ottawa « id say second best city in canada to visite if your from other country besides Quebec city!! « just wanted to say that :P

Kaceys have fun skating on canal in AMD (luckyyou) dont forget you Hockey stick ;) and show the dutch how to play (jk) Take picture if you can
