Darts in Amsterdam.

Post by Rizla King »

Hey all am just wondering with there being a big infulence on the english darts scene of dutch darts players i was wondering how is darts recieved in the NL and Amsterdam imperticular?

does it get played very often?
is it a pub/coffee shop game like in our country?
or is it about as popular as cricket is in NL?:)

I have never seen it being played in Amsterdam or ever remember even seeing a dart board there but that could be because of the other extra activities i may of endulged in before i even leave my hotel :D

Talk about paranoia-inducing games for the innocent bystanders, eh? No, I think darts is a game best left out of Amsterdam Coffeeshops.

Made me laugh like hell thinking of it though...

I seen quite a few in pubs scattered around the city. The only place i can remember the location though was a small place just inbetween Betty Boop and coffeeshop Ben.....i don't know the actual name of the pub but they had a chalkboard standing outside advertising the dart board during the summer.

Pool halls normally have a few dart lanes. Floorspace is so limited in the centrum having a dart lane is normally wasted space. Some Irish bars have them Slainte, Aran, along with larger pubs and places further out of centrum. Our other bar has 1, Batavia, opposite central station.

They don't on the main bar floor where the dart board is, but they have a smoking room downstairs which is quite big with some sofas. They allow weed at parties so I'm guessing they allow a joint down there the rest of the time. I very seldom visit it, so I don't know for sure.:D Mind you, they did just put a Wii in it recently. :P

House of Darts appears to be a store, but I'm sure they could point you in the right direction. Looks like they are a bit west of center. I suppose you could email them as well.
