Putting faces to names...

Post by Rez »

Hi all,

You know how when you think of what forum members look like and what their personalities are like...?

As curious that makes me, even if pictures were offered I think I would hold back and make the first time of seeing somebody to be done only when hookin' up in Amsterdam... just to make it that bit more special.

Please don't thinking I'm a great big emotional criple... ... it just seems the right way to do it for me.

Any other views ?

Oh, and when you guys have hooked up do you call each other by their usename or their real name ... just out of curiosity - which I must add was instigated by my wonderfull assistant today, ladies and gentlemen allow me to introduce you to: Mary Jane.... blah blah, sorry :|

I know a guy for 10 years now, since he was 12 and I was in my early 20s. Met him over a MUD I was a coder on. I knew this guy for years, finally when we made plans to meet (I live on the east coast he lives on the west), he sent me a pic to know how to recognize him. My god... nothing at all like I imagined. His personality had painted one pic in my mind and it didn't jive with reality. As far as the handle or name thing goes, I'll let ya know what actually happens after I get back this time (hopefully meeting up with a few board members). However, wouldn't bother me in the least if you call me Styg or my real name, so long as I know yer talking to me that's what matters. :)

Nice answer Stig, many thanks... I say "Stig" as it seems only right. It reminds me of a character from a book i think, one from way back in my early school days... "Stig of the Dump".

everything thats happening to me lately is like my life is a un-made jigsaw puzzle and I keep finding the right place for the right bit... cool.

Well, when I was in Amsterdam I called DC by his username and he did the same back. Did the same with Neuro but that was kinda weird because he was with his wife and it would have been better to know what his real name was.

Obviously most of the usernames have absolutely no connection at all with the person's real name and I think it would be good to find out what the real names are during a hook up.

Might as well let you know (incase you wondered) that my real name is Chris(topher) and the Doog refers to my middle name ( betcha can't guess what that is  )

As for a photograph, that is the one thing that I definitely should have done in Amsterdam and posted on the site afterwards. The digital camera turned out to be a really low quality piece of equipment and I could have probably got a better instamatic one for the money I paid for the digital.

Anyway, that's a different story.

While in Amsterdam for the ACD party, I called everyone by their given name. While on the web site I use their pseudo name. Adds to the mystic. AzLaker 8)

Ah the magic roundabout. Had to wonder what the hell that was about sometimes, even when it was repeated on Channel Four in UK a few years back.

You're right Laker, I should have kept all the given name stuff to myself.

No worries Doog, but I gotta agree with AzLaker. For me now as I have grown to "know" :?: members... actually meeting them and then getting high with them must be such a blast and a headfuck all at once.!

I did find it a very strange experience when I met up with Neuro and DC. The experience became decidedly stranger as the effects of the THC took hold. Surroundings and general state of the people involved are the keys to a successful hook up I would say. THC tolerance is also helpful.

Was it a bit of a headfuck Doog...?

I can well imagine thinking what to say and if it was going ok... and to imagine if a bit of bud-fueled para sets in... oh no.

But that makes me think of that poxy "Stress" thread...

As and when I am a "hook-up" atendee, I can assure you that you'll enjoy it as much as I do and you'll come away with a real positive sense of achievement... Well, I will.

Depends on your personality and your general state at the time of the hook up, but I couldn't quite believe that it was actually happening when I met Neuro. (Meeting DC wasn't such a big deal as he lives and works there but that doesn't mean to say that I didn't enjoy meeting DC).

It was my first full day of my holiday and it was Neuro's last full day so while one of us was planning their exit, I had only just made my entrance.

It was the first time in three trips that I had ever arranged to meet anyone and this guy was from the United States and had travelled thousands of miles and I guess I was just too wrapped up thinking what a small world it really is. (Still wouldn't fancy the 8 hour minimum flights).

I would definitely take someone with me from the UK the next time I go.

I know I am fairly new to this site..and alot of people here have been talking for awhile. And as i can understand why people might see it as a mind fuck to meet and smoke, isn't that what we are all here for {not meaning just the site but the world in general}.Growing up I was always out going and never fearful of meeting and greeting new people and consiquently all my friends were the same way. But now getting on in years{a ripe ol'29}I see the world going through a rough change ,people are becoming more introverted.By having a multi-media world people dont physically have the desire to leave to meet new people..And I think that this is when a great link between these two worlds is accomplished .By a site like this. This site is a gathering of like minded individuals[world wide]who can meet in a city that doesnt make ones pleasures into an illegal guilt.

I am really stoned but...[what was i saying again..lol

I was always quite shy as a kid... just happy to blend in and go un-noticed.

I dont quite know hwat happened and when (maybe when I met Mary Jane) but now I just love mixing with different people. Sometimes I do feel a bit out of touch with different peeps, especially if I feel less informed or educated... but as long as the person I'm with is not looking down on me I'm happy with mostly anybody.

I wont have anybody take the piss and I'll stand up for myself to anybody. Maybe being a Door Man (Bouncer) for nearly 6 years made me stronger and more confident, in particular when speaking publically.

I cant wait to arrange my hook ups for my future visits.

The funny thing is that it might take years of visiting to meet all the people I want to... sounds perfect to me.

I'm still trying to arrange a "Book" signing visit and I'm struggling to creat "My Message"... it's got to be a statement that is from my heart but one that you all can relate to... I gotta make it so good that it gets tongues wagging and people to visit...
