I obviously cant comment on 'real' mexican food but this place was lush and near enough always gets a lot of recommendations.

Being pedantic and knobbish since 1972
This place gets good reviews for tex-mex:

iv always kept an eye out for mexican food in the dam...assumed there wasn't any. guess i didn't look hard enough. i always seem to crave chalupas, enchiladas, mission style burritos, etc. they need to open a taco del mar in amsterdam.

I've eaten at The Taco Shop and I really liked the food. I had a Taco and some Spanish rice which was all freshly made. It's not really a place to have a sit down meal although it does have seats along the windows so it's better as a lunch spot or takeaway. Worth a visit if you're in the area visiting the original Greenhouse or coffeeshops in de Pijp.

If you want tex mex than you want The Taco Shop.
