NO! the one on TEXEL island is probably the best in country...best time is Weekends or mid summer holidays..beach #9-27
Zandvoort 2km from normal beach youll find a nudist beach stretching between poles 68 and 71
Scheveningen beach between poles 96 and 98 and its clearly marked« also near Katwijk i know you can run down the beach NUDE cause iv done it ;) «aint much ppl on these beaches
then you got Callantsoog « very small one about 1.5km long

A naturalist park also 32Hec of naturalists ;) called Flevo Natuur

LK. I take my bike over on the ferry, so my stuff is in rear pannier bags, I'm good at packing so I can carry a suprising amount in just the throw over the rear carrier type. I would imagine if you hire a bike in Holland they would also have stuff like that available for you. If you want to tour in an organised way I see loads of groups of people who's baggage is being transported ahead for them so they're not carting an extra 50 lbs of kit all day, but to be honest man I just like to do my own thing. :)
What a long strange trip it is.

Thanks guys

@adamster Flevo natuur looks nice. Have u been there??

@spidergawd I wish i could bring my own bike http://www.24.dk/image/56254/540x448 but its very expensive and complicated to bring it on the train. I live more than 600 km from Holland it would take me almost a week to get there on bike.
I will have to rent one in holland that is appropriate for longer distances.

I cant decide if i should to go south or north when reaching the west coast/zandvoort :?

No havent been!

Best thing you should do is Take train to Zanvoort once on beach walk south ;) if you walk north from Zanvoort you wont get much beach!
If you thinking of Texel once off the ferry they rent bikes for cheap (6-8euro a day)
Renting a bike in amsterdam you need a credit card or leave Passport most rental are about 10euro a day some charge extra for bags...

the area to the north of the road from haarlem to zandvoort is the Nationaal Park Zuid Kennemerland

dutch: http://www.npzk.nl/
english: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zuid-Kenne ... ional_Park

this lovely national park is covered with cycle trails and dunes and forests and lakes and deer and highland cows ... and is perfect for a day's meandering on a bicycle

and at the end of the day you are within easy reach of zandvoort or haarlem for a well-deserved smoke

What StonedSince'67 Sayed! The Duines CAN get boring on North sea route once pass Ijmuidenn and long! the Promenade of Zanvoort goin North will bring you to Bloemendaal aan zee once there N200 will bring you to Haarlem...

B4 Zanvoort (south) youll find Amsterdame Duinwaterleidin
National parks « nicer the the one north and easyer to get by SEA
Best is gettin to Schenvenningen (by train) or DEnHaag (4-5km by bike)
and ride trou the DUIN parks all the way to Zaanvort (42km) or all the way to Denhelder (92?km) « bike ride youll never forget ;) done it and do it again :D last time did AMD-Haarlem-Denhelder (100km) 1 full day and few hours :D

LOL!
am thinking the same North or south?
Last year started biking from amsterdam to harlem them North to Texel
(was kinna boring from Ijmuiden & on ,maybe cause the day was getting to be long and lost many times)
and thinking now should i start up north after 2 day break by beach and work myself down to Denhaag or start at other end and finish in texel... i know goin south north most of the time wind is in you back not facing you so should be easyer to cycle :(
i guess ill do like i do each year wait for the day i leave to deside  « hope i aint to high when i deside cause it over 130km to deside over...

LK when you doin your biking?

if your coming from amsterdam once in Zanvoort kinna hard to find if not already on track! the marking on N200 aint marked its missing a post!
if you coming from Haarlem and you on n200 and see a camping ground turn back till you see an entry to a park that have and entry on other side of the street (or just cross and check its posted on other side)

i should be on trail sometime at end of may

I thought the same thing on my trip in 2008. I rented a 7 speed from Bike City, http://www.bikecity.nl/ . They have a 2 day minimum for the hybrid bikes but still resonable.

Peace,
