What the dude below said... (too long to reggie something)

Post by SoenderbronX_DK »

Greetz…

Well… I started googling Amsterdam and coffee shops almost immediately after agreeing with my three friends and wonderful girlfriend to (finally) go to Amsterdam together this August, and since about thirty seconds into the surfing ACD has been on my laptop more or less 24/7. That being said it took me almost three weeks to get in to my pre-trip jitter dazed mind that ACD would probably have a kick ass forum, not being perfectly satisfied with what Channels have to offer (that’s not a knock, channels is cool in its own right and I’m a member there too, but this forum just seems on an entirely different level). Well, obviously and fortunately, my guess was spot on, and I have spent several multi-hour sessions inhere since.

Before having read even one of the (until now excellent) travelogues my m8 and I had already agreed to bring a small note pad to scribble down impressions about the different CS’ we will be hitting in our 9 day trip, the gear sampled (munched, violently and greedily inhaled etc), random impressions and the overall bliss of it all. It is my hope that these notes will enable me to give a go at a (hopefully) entertaining travelogue, and perhaps we will have time to drop in a live report or two, who knows.

I, like any other (not nearly) soon (enough)-to-be-Amsterdam-visitor I guess, have a few questions, but august is a way of so all in good time. For the time being I’ll just hang out and drop a comment or two from time to time (and again)…

Cheers’ and happy Toking

Thats a nice entrance mate. I know exactly what you mean. I stumbled across this site nearly 7 years ago now...spent a lot of time reading. Then only recently I found the forum to go with it. Since then I have found this place is truly great! Welcome!
You missed it right?

Hellos toking peepz!

Thnx for the great welcome, much more then I expected but confirming my notion that this is one kick ass site, for the info and for the peepz! Also thnx on the well-wishings for the trip, keep sprinkling magic dust on it guys, it _IS_ going to be a freaking miracle blast of fun and good toking if I have anything to say or do about it ;)

And yes, one could actually plan an entire trip in here, taking all the reports and posts into mind there must be enough info for a life time of trips… Hmm… That does sound amazingly appealing: “a life time of trips to the ´dam”, I think I’ll stick around and make an effort of it… :)

We’ll be arriving on sat. August 12th in the morning (I think, a bit too “early” for remembering stuff like that) and splitting some time sun. August 20th.

I’ll be posting my plans in the coming weeks (and will of course be refining them as suggestions come in), I’ve made a lot of small changes so far, mostly after reading up in here… Rez: Great great great stuff on that 44 hour plunge, lot’s small treasures buried in there, good writing style too, can’t wait to read the next one ;)

I’m most definitely going to sign THE BOOK, and the whole “dropping off of paraphernalia etc. is a kick ass idea, hope it works when I get there. Also planning to drop of a pipe or two myself if the “system” is up and running…

Gotta toke up, laterz..

Many thanks for your comments... For me it was all about re-living the whole experience (I think that most others that have written a report know what I mean)... make some notes (as many as poss whilst still having a blast) and when you get home, take some time to write it how you want it to be read... that's my only advice. Once you like how it reads, post it. If it's anything like how you've started contributing to the forum, I'm sure we'll love it.

Welcome! Great introduction! It is a great idea to have a notepad with you, I agree! I can honestly say that from my experience at the 4/20 meeting. So many cs, so much smoke, and then it all starts to run together. Next time I am taking notes! LOL

Look forward to your trip report!
