The, er, ample :D , lady who seems to polarise us stoners gave me a free brew ( 2 actually )when I was last over. She was full of smiles, and a pleasant person all round.
I havn't bought anything that I didn't enjoy from HGF, perhaps my standards are not quite as high as USBonglord's, but still, I would never wish the place to close.

( and I aint having a pop Bonglord, you're standards are gonna be higher than mine, i've seen you're stash  )

hey DC and two canucks - thanks for muppet-call! ;)

For the record, I've been coming to amst for 26 years and had NEVER encountered a budtender with an insurmountable bad attitude...until chubby chops! I'm not going to detail the whole event - I had 4 witnesses to confirm I handled it brilliantly and that the budtender was WAY OTT from even before I opened my mouth (rolling her eyes skyward and putting hands on hips and looking at me with a 'what the fuck do YOU want?!'-face before I even spoke!) - [cue the speculation as to what kinda irritation-provoking appearance I might have! hahahahaha!]

Here's the deal as far as I'm concerned: If someone wishes for my custom and my good will they must treat me appropriately - at which point I will display all the customer loyalty they could desire. If they dont do that they can starve to death before I'll spend more of my hard earned with em.

I've defused several already-angry budtenders on other occasions by means of careful and subtle acknowledgement of their knowledge and the service they offer. Of course, I'm not infallible. hehehehe

I said that' I do not wish them well for the future', NOT that I hope they shut!!

As to the excuse made on behalf of budtenders that they get fed up dealing with pushy 18yr olds etc - what a load of bollocks! They are running a business that charges the max it can get away with because they want to make as high a profit as possible - in that context, employees (or owners) do not have the luxury of taking out their childish and unprofessional 'moods' on the punters without expecting a backlash.

BIG respect to USBONGLORD for his far more concise comments than mine and fuck homegrown fantasy.

yeah, stuart, you're probably right! hahahaha :-)

in fact, weed-wise I've never had brilliant from them but I love their indica-ish isolator and have enjoyed a couple of games of chess in there. Shame they dished the attitude every time!

USBONGLORD wrote:gear sucks...smoke sucks...see ya....not really concerned...mujch better places....to keep a shitty shop for its license is kinda stupid dc...its been crap for 10 years....when is the improvement comin?.....its already here and it aint there,,,,
It's easy being a sanctimonious weed snob when yer sitting so high up ya have to look down on everybody else. Considering the licenses are on an extinction policy, it's far from stupid to keep a one alive. Evolution can't happen if there's nothing there to evolve from and in relation to all the coffeeshops in Amsterdam, it sits well in the top half of the list.

Cannasir, I said if it pleases you that they'll close for good...then yer a muppet. In a thread about their closure, not wishing them well for the future doesn't really suggest much else.

I agree, DC, re the preferability of keeping as many coffeeshops open as possible. And your semantic / syntactic correction is noted and accepted!

I wont patronise the place again and WILL warn people of my experiences, as I do regarding that twat in Dutch Flowers, BUT I ALSO tell people if the gear is good anyway - I still go in Dutch Flowers now despite that fool in there as the hash IS nice and I DO recommend the 25e/g indica-effect isolator from HGF.

Peace.

Apparently the first problem they had was to extend the rental agreement for the building, but next year they have to renew the weed license. The landlord will deffinately protest this considering they outwitted him in regards to the rental extension.

By the way bonglord, I don't actually see 'Sanctimonious weed snob' as being an insult to you.

wow, usbl... had no idea you felt so strongly about hgf... i do respect your opinion on herb, but i've never had a bad experience there (weed or service)... but i've also not visited as many times as others.

black widow -- katsu noted.

I really like HGF. The decor, atmosphere and staff have always been top class from several trips there. It one of only 3 shops in 10 years to give me a free drink also :) and the only one who insist on taking every drink to my table for me....they had probably seen me tripping over the tables once!

I usually stick the the Cheese which is always a winner for me, but have had a couple of other strains i been happy with. Will be a shame to see any shop go, let alone one of my favourites.
