Where do the Dutch eat breakfast?
Title says it all really. I searched and found plenty of queries on Irish/English breakfasts but zip on the Netherlands. From what I understand, it's mostly a slice of bread with nutella/jam/deli meat/cheese or some combination thereof. But honestly, I was kind of hoping for something along the line of Denny's serving uitsmijters.
Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.
That one place in the center that not only is a restaurant, but you can buy the seat you're sitting on. I'll think of it soon...
Got it: Latei!

At home?
I've stayed in (big) hotels in Rotterdam & Eindhoven and breakfast has been included in the room price [Mandarin Park Plaza hotel is the hotel I'd recommend in Eindhoven] and the spread is always a huge smorgasbord of delicacies to suit all tastes.. tho I did watch some Dutch pig out on yoghurt/muesli and also filet americaine .. both which I love anyway..

What Amsterdam needs is a good American breakfast joint, 24 hours a day.[/quote]
Could not agree more Marco. The night guy at my hotel told me there was nowhere to get breakfast 24 hours a day in Amsterdam and after walking around the town for an hour and a half with the munchies at 5am I believe him

Oh sorry, you probably don't have those in the UK. Basically, it's a 24-hour place that serves breakfast all day and all night. Frequented by family types during the day and drunks, stoners, and club-goers in the wee hours of the morning.Sir Niall of Essex-sire wrote:Dennys?DazedandConfusedinOR wrote:Put a Denny's in the Centrum and you'd be a rich man!
