Regional Favorites

Post by geoffk »

Not just in the Nederlands. Are there any regional strains that are consistently outstanding in your neck of the woods? Just curious. I'll start off with Chem/Dawg. A beautiful lime green with a slight citrus tangy taste that'll keep ya stoned for a long time. A touch of head high will keep your brain busy too. I've heard people mention at the dispensary that their complaint is that it's too strong. My only complaint is that it's harsh on the throat, but you have to expect that with this kind of strain. The same is true of another favorite of mine: Mr. Nice.

Blues is the best native strain we get round here, similar to cheese in terms of strength and ultra strong smell, but with a more fruity, perfumed taste. When it's cured right you can taste it in your mouth for AGES afterwards...love it.

Where I live there are 2 common strains. M39 and Jack Herer. The M39 is an old SSSC strain that has become so commercialized in Canada that is completely un-smokable. The Jack Herer is mostly grown by jews and without a doubt always is covered in crystals and very potent. I'm just sick of it. There is also a very steady supply of Chocolope, Kali Mist and LA Woman. Soon the LA woman is being replaced by LA Confidential and Cannadential is being thrown into the mix soon. Can't wait!!

M39 goes for MAX 40$/7g 120$/oz 1600$/lb
Jack Herer goes for 60$/7g 200$/oz 2800$/lb

The big thing here is usually Sour Diesel, it is usually top quality but the price is always pretty crazy. I would be running in circles if I ever could get any kind of good flavor for $200 a oz, you would expect a oz of beasters if you are only paying $200 around here.

I only get Blue Mystic for some strange reason :?

But if i was buying.
Regional its Cheese but then everything is, the famous Birmingham Blueberry has faded away slowly (With the original grower getting banged up) but you can pick up the odd bit. There are some other Blueberrys around pretending to be the one but they are not.

Whist not exactly regional, Super Silver Haze is a favourite amongst a group of local growers I know and it has therefore been around my way for years:

I guess I can count myself lucky as it is very fine herb indeed, however it may sound a little crazy when I say you will get bored of it and it will have only limited effects after 2 weeks of smoking nothing else. I end up looking for a nice strong indica instead for the sledgehammer stone that provides a great night's sleep. Despite the alluring smell of SSH I smoke only a couple of grams of this strain a month, if that.

Don't mind Adamster, he thinks being offensive is funny. Whatever floats your boat, I guess.
