Regime changed years ago thats why the people are oppressed, coz the taliban cant face the fact people dont want them controlling them no more. They bring in Bin laden and his cronnies to help oppress the people even more. When they have been wiped out you will see, shouldnt be long nowdoobydave wrote:Ah, regime change. Illegal under international law and, likely not to be the real reason as to why we are there.
War costs an immense amount of money. Regime change (for the benefit of the people) is not a good money earner.
If regime change were really the issue, surely there are tens of other countries more deserving of our attention?
Come on the boys
By the way i dont think the Iraq war was justified and i hope blair and his cronnies suffer.
I too will be waiting with baited breath for when we decide to go into Saudi, Burma, Sudan or the Congo..........
I suppose I really shouldn't be too surprised/concerned at people's perception of things.
Come on our boys! Get The Job Done.
FUCK YEAH!

If History is anything to go by......i think we should leave well alone.....it is not up to the west to police the world.....many have tried to enforce their will on the country and all have failed

This is a war machine, munching everything in its path which includes US, British and AFGHAN troops. No small army of troopsWhen no reply was received, the British dispatched an envoy, Sir Neville Chamberlain, with a small military force

The Afghan war. We went because American told us to, they went because they needed retribution of the 9/11 attacks.
We replaced a regime which was corrupt and oppressive. We replace it with a corrupt regime that was pushed into Government by the occupiers of the land. Now, we're fighting against a small fractured insurgent force that knows the land better than us.
We will never win in Afghanistan, first we must define Victory, which as so far has not been defined in Afghanistan. But, i think it is Kermit that comes closest to a definition, to rebulid a country to allow people to enjoy their life. I feel this is probably the best definition.
However, firstly did the Afghanistan people want this? If not, are we right to enforce our idea of regime ideals on them? International law says no. Secondly, rebuilding the country means a constant security force, so we ever keep the lads there for many years to come. Or we sacrifice a Victory. Britain and America don't have a spectacularly good record of holding the rights of those invaded over our own countries natives rights.

'war is not meant to be won, its meant to be continuous'
after the collapse of the soviet union their was a massive void, less than 10 years later we have the so called war on terror,
come on we gotta feel sorry for the owners of these weapons companies, they gotta make money somehow
