Getting there asses blow off! & it will all be for nothing in the end no doubt,Man the taliban are not a people! they are an ideology! ok so we push them out of helmand,They will just turn up some place else! somewhere less hot,Ie where the latvians are or something! the british/americans & the canadians have bore the brunt of that meatgrinder while the french deliver there bottles of water.

I disagree with you guys but understand where you are coming from.

In the past years I have been doing a lot of volunteer work with WWII veterans and this has changed my outlook somewhat.

They had nothing to with it. I am not going to argue with you over this. I am loyal to my people, black or white, those who I live with, breathe with. Those who come home in coffins, those who come home damaged.

Politics aside, the Taliban are bad people, I lose no sleep when they die. War is hell, war sucks. But I voted for Obama knowing (he said this remember!!) that he would expand the war in Afg. I am not happy about it, but at the end of the day, it would be hugely inconsistent to expect Obama to do anything less than what he promised.

And don't be naive, humanity is based on the ideal that some blood is worth more than others. Almost all societies operate on this premise. Sad but true.

No it doesn't. Ultalitarinism dictates that, Society is built on a contract between the individuals who exist within it. A contract which stipulates all humans are equal. If we take your premise, some blood is worth more than others. Then, why is slavery wrong? Why is genocide wrong? If some blood is worth more than others, why is it that our blood is worth more than theirs? It's just as likely that theirs is worth more than ours. Who made that decision, furthermore, who is to say the blood that runs in the veins of the person who made that decision should not be split. Society is based on equality, this has been manipulated by a human idea of self importance for the individual, the race of said person, the religion of that person etc.

i guess these "smart bombs" arent very smart.

i agree with sir nial. a life is a life no matter who it is. although i'll admit i dont quite feel the same way about rapists/child mollesters and murderers.
