Hello all, I feel I have discovered this fantastic site much too late as I am just about to embark on my third adventure to amsterdam and feel I'm in need of some extra advice! Basically I've been trawling the reviews on here and have built up a pretty solid list of places to hit but I Was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions not on my list for my much-anticipated third visit? Or even if I have any listed which I should be wary of?Here it is!

Picasso
Homegrown fantasy
De graal
Greenhouse effect
Grey area
Barney's
Rusland
Basjoe
Rookies
Katsu
Carmona
Kadinsky
Amnesia
Paradox
The bushdocter
Het ballonnetje
Het gelderse

Obviously it will be hard to hit all these within 5 days so I really need some help! I'm feeling increasingly worried of wasting my all-to-limited euros on inferior strains so a bit more guidance would be a great help. Also if anyone knows of a good place to hear some jazz or 80's/90's hip hop then that would also be valuable info! Thanks for reading!

Greetings, ElRay85. I've got 11 of those shops on my list too, for my 4th visit (in 40 years) coming up this May.

I too have been sifting through various websites putting together a list of Must Visit shops and best strains and deals.

My visit entails 9 full days and i've got a list of nearly 40 shops. Hahaha! If i manage a visit to 10 of them i'd be happy.

Not on your list yet are Boerejongens and de Bij, which sound intriguing tho a bit far from Centrum, also Happy Feelings, Greenhouse Tolstraat, Mellow Yellow, de Rokerij, Yo-Yo, and Dolphins, which all sound like fine places to visit.

Enjoy your trip!!

Welcome to ACD.

Something you might consider doing is to print the map provided on this website and bring it with you. Hit the streets running with a plan such as walking along the canals from one end to the other, stopping at any C/S you happen upon. Check the place out, if it looks chill, as most do, pop on in and have a chat with the budtender. Tell them what you want, and ask what they recommend. Buy a sample size nugget (0.5gms) and give it some fire. Make mental or written notes on your experience so that at a later date you will know which shops you like and which you like less. Also, you can write all of this good stuff in the Travelogues (After or During) section. If you happen on some remarkable gear, or some that misses the mark by a mile, start a thread in the appropriate folder and share your thoughts and opinions.

Again, welcome.
Peace.

If I had five days and only the shops you have listed above I would spend the most money in the following shops (listed according to the shop I would want to spend the most money in):

1. Amnesia: Prices are towards the higher end but the vast majority of their gear is, IMO, consistently top-qaulity. Also, their shop layout, decor, and atmosphere are all enjoyable to me so I love this place. AND...the food is extremely decent and the drinks are fabulous. If you're adventurous order a "Refreshing Drink" and let us know what you think! :)

2. HGF: Another great shop to chill in...just not as nice as Amnesia IMO. BUT, their gear is almost DEFINITELY top-notch and will most likely be some of the stronger stuff you get a hold of.

3. Grey Area: Yes...I admit that I'm an American. I really like this shop and the budtenders/owners. GA has effectively divided the world in to "Love the place/ Hate the place" but I still recommend them with confidence. Basically, they were the most friendly and hospitable of every shop we visited, the gear we bought was very good to excellent, AND they let us purchase half grams!

4. Basjoe: Terminator (hopefully). James works there. The End.

Excellent choices, I couldn't agree more with your assessment (opinion).

The only exception is the Grey Area. So what if you are an American and the C/S is owned/operated by Americans. The Grey Area is chill, albeit a closet sized C/S. I get what you mean, but still, it shouldn't matter, and it doesn't. Fuck all to those who think otherwise. ':P'
They let you buy 0.5gms, ok. Most shops that I have been to have let me buy half grams, especially when I tell them I am just sampling and don't want to get wasted on just one strain. In my experience, the shops that tend not to sell a specific requested amount are those that sell pre-weighed, prepacked gear. I tend not to trust those shops because there have been more times than not that the bags were light, sometimes by as much as 0.75gms out of a 5 gram purchase. This is the PRIMARY reason I spot check the weight from all C/S's. So far, over 95% percent of C/S's that I have spot checked were at or over the weight purchased, if only just. Better than the alternative.

Peace.
