After reading for years about this place I decided to check it out
during our Nov. 06 trip. Its like being in a small town village square
almost, with the Oude Kerk and the trees . Heres a pic. showing a slice
of the Upstairs view.

Found the downstairs more pleasant though.

I remember getting some pretty decent Double Zero from here a few years ago, had a similar effect. I can just about remember piling reefers full of it as we drove down to Belgium to catch a ferry home!

I went there for the first time after 4 visits to the dam and loved the upstairs windows. I sat and looked at the tree and the church, watching the wind blow the leaves... it was very relaxing.

They have nice big glasses of hot chocolate too that I loved, but I never buy gear there. Upon inspection I just didn't find anything I wanted to get... would have rather spent my euros on more Annunaki 8)

For atmosphere and chilling I say this place is very cool upstairs.

Stumbled by "Old Church" on Sunday evening only to find the place cordoned off and full of police with and ambulance arriving.

Needless to say we staggered on by.

Pasing the next morning it was clear that the upstairs window had a huge hole in it, I can only imagine someone fell or was pushed through it considering the size of the hole.

Shit what a bummer.
I've never seen anything remotely dodgy out there, how sad. :(

I enjoyed my stay there the night I was in. 7euros for a gram (or more!) of Jack Herer which was well worth it. Not a bad place to chill. Certainly central if you or any of your party are visiting the red light district, as it is easy to find again. Didn't find it too expensive and service was good. Closed early the night I was there, though.

Unfortunately i found this to be one of the poorer Coffeeshops I visited.

I was there last Saturday, the only free seats were upstairs and the bar tenders came after us when we went up stairs without buying any of their products.

I got a milkshake and 2gr of Jack Herer. It was quite different from the Jack Herer I got in Jolly Joker (to be honest I don't think either are true JH) and quite harsh. Milkshake was also sub-par.

The thing that really got me about the place though was that while I was waiting to be served there was a guy beside me who wanted change for the cigarette machine. He was pleasant and polite but obviouslly not sober. They wouldn't give him change until he bought something. So he just bought a can of Red Bull and handed it straight back to them in disgust. They basically charged him to change a €10 note into coins.

I dont think I'll be going back

Pity you had a bad experience in there. The view out of the window is one of the best in dam. Theres also a dead friendly dutch girl who works mornings in there, always a pleaseure to be served by her. Just watch out when you are ordering orange juices, they like to push the large ones which cost about 4.50 E!!

it's still a fave haunt of mine and I'm sad that you had less than pleasant experiences. We have always found the place really friendly.
It has to be said I take little notice of the drinks prices as we are on our holiday and frankly don't care. We are not rich or anything but I hate counting pennies when I'm chilling.
As I've said we have never had any problems in there and we must have been in at least 8 or 9 times in the past 2 years.
Always had nice smokables from there too.

Awful isolator! Bought a g and bought it back to the UK. Didn't even get a good hit off a 3 litre lung with about a quarter of a g in it! Also avoid the WW ready rolled joints, bought one for convenience on the last day and there was hardly any weed in there, just loads of cigarette tobacco. Smoked half, then decided to split it open to see what they had put in and it was almost devoid of any green. Maybe score elsewhere and go to the old church to smoke it as it was a good atmosphere in there.

In my previous 8 trips to the Dam I have frequented this coffeshop daily, not to buy their smoker but for the friendly atmosphere, plenty of seating and great location. Although the drinks were always a little on the expensive side I never minded paying as it was worth it to sit and watch the world go by from the terrace or upstairs windows. It would be fair to say it was one of my favourite coffeeshops for smoking in and I never had any problems smoking weed from elsewhere in there.
HOWEVER, on this trip I walked into the coffeeshop and while in the queue for a drink I noticed some yellow cards dotted about with 'house rules' on them. I glanced at it and noticed at the bottom 'IT IS NOT ALLOWED TO SMOKE YOUR OWN WEED OR HASH HERE'. After all the good times in there I was shocked to see this and walked out as I had no desire to purchase the weed from there which to my knowledge is usually below par. I dont know if this place has been taken over by new owners or wether the current ones have become too money hungry for their own good. I hope this backfires on them.
