Makes ya think. Now I give ya that the whole thing about the US (the Eagle) bringing peace to the mid-east per the Q'uranic prophecy looks to be hogwash as of now, but the rest of this stuff shows some wierd underpinnings to our reality.Follow the steps at the end, this is pretty creepy!
1) New York City has 11 letters
2) Afghanistan has 11 letters.
3) Ramsin Yuseb (The terrorist who threatened to destroy the Twin Towers in 1993) has 11 letters.
4) George W Bush has 11 letters.
This could be a mere coincidence, but this gets more interesting:
1) New York is the 11th state.
2) The first plane crashing against the Twin Towers was flight number 11.
3) Flight 11 was carrying 92 passengers. 9 + 2 = 11
4) Flight 77 which also hit Twin Towers, was carrying 65 passengers. 6+5 = 11
5) The tragedy was on September 11, or 9/11 as it is now known. 9 + 1+ 1 = 11
6) The date is equal to the US emergency services telephone number 911. 9 + 1 + 1 = 11.
Sheer coincidence..?! Read on and make up your own mind:
1) The total number of victims inside all the hi-jacked planes was 254. 2 + 5 + 4 = 11.
2) September 11 is day number 254 of the calendar year. Again 2 + 5 + 4 = 11.
3) The Madrid bombing took place on 3/11/2004. 3 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 4 = 11.
4) The tragedy of Madrid happened 911 days after the Twin Towers incident.
Now this is where things get totally eerie:
The most recognised symbol for the US, after the Stars & Stripes, is the Eagle. The following verse is taken from the Quran, the Islamic holy book:
"For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced: for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah and there was peace."
That verse is number 9.11 of the Quran.
Still uncovinced about all of this..?! Try this and see how you feel afterwards, it made my hair stand on end. Open Microsoft Word and do the following:
1. Type in capitals Q33 NY. This is the flight number of the first plane to hit one of the Twin Towers.
2. Highlight the Q33 NY.
3. Change the font size to 48.
4. Change the actual font to the WINGDINGS

This is just really odd. It makes you wonder if there is or isn't an underlying order to the universe we are not aware of. I know this deals with 9/11, but it is pretty freaky.
50 characters? Nothing to say in 50 characters.
I don't know if I should reply to this, but I feel an overwhelming need to. I was infected with a metavirus and now see the 23 synchronicity principle everywhere. Masonic temples on 23rd street or with the number 23 in the address or Stygian23.

FNORD! I too have been infected by the same metavirus. Hail Discordia. It's partially because of the synchronicity thing that I brought this up. I find this stuff extremely interesting. It reminds me that no matter how smart we think we are, we aren't nearly that smart.

seemed appropo.
I was going to reread the Illuminatus trilogy in Amsterdam, but I'd probably never leave the first CS I smoked in and started to read.
Ever checked out Bibliotheca Philosophica Hermetica in Amsterdam?
going to try and take a peek in June.
Unless I pull a fnord.

Manhattan, NY - 9 + 2 = 11
Manhattan, New York - 9 + 7 = 16
George W Bush = 11
George Walker Bush = 16
I don't know about coincidence of it all just seems to me to be rather forced depending on how you wish to arrange things.
The Q33 NY thing was pretty cool though.
This kind of reminds me of the whole Nostradamus thing. I always puzzled about how people and Nostradamus "predicted" the future AFTER an event like 9-11 happens.

Conspiracy theories, mysticism and superstition seems to be the order of the day in the world of 2006 (and has been so for quite some time). One could ponder what exactly causes people to invent or inspire these (follow the above link if you were in doubt as to whether the “11 coincidence” is a load of bull**** or not), or even why so many people seem to rather want to ignore reality or cover it in ever thickening layers of mystery rather than discover it objectively. One might even want to debate the sanity or insanity of various world-views, which often leads to people calling each other names and a pervasive state of un-mellowyness, pretty dang far from cool… Buuuuuut… The great thing about being a stoner is… We don’t have to…
Stoners almost never bitch for prolonged times (unless it is a discussion about who’s on muchie-detail) and a heated debate kinda’ just isn’t in the cards when you’ve got half a kilo of THC buzzing around your cap. It also tends to be exceedingly hard to argue aggressively with someone when you are having trouble remembering what exactly the concept of arguing is suppose to be all about and who the hell the man with the big chimp on his head is.. But I guess that’s one of the reasons stoners love stoners… It’s all good…

Here is an example of a classic stoned statement... When mashed I just cant be dealing with anything negative, which has overlapped into my sober life. I am continually finding myself in situation that once would piss me off, and now... I just say no problem, let the bad shit float away.SoenderbronX_DK wrote:Conspiracy theories, mysticism and superstition seems to be the order of the day in the world of 2006 (and has been so for quite some time). I admit in my stoned exuberance I didn't check it. Shrug. I saw the wingdings thing and was like wow that's wacky, and after reading a string of 11s.. shrug.. why not? Seen stranger things happen in life with my own eyes. And anyone who has even a passing recognition of Bell's Theorum or Super-String Theory knows that there IS an underlying order of sorts. I did however know that Q'uranic verse was crep. The problem with synchronicity is that sometimes it appears to occur without outside manipulation, other times it appears to be a function of selective perception. Shrug, either way, it shows interesting things about how the human brain functions.

Doog, how do you manage to write this stuff man... and all with no smoke. I'm sending you a parcel !Doog wrote:You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension: a dimension of sight, a dimension of sound, a dimension of mind.
You're moving into a land of shadow and substance, of things and ideas.
You just crossed over into The Twilight Zone.

All will be explained by clicking above. I have basically robbed the introduction to one of the greatest television series that I have ever seen.

Just to prove my self wrong in the claim that stoners do not bitch:
Stygian: Yes, ”synchronicity” does make for an interesting look into how the human brain works, I’ll leave it at that ;=)
Concerning any piece of String Theory, it is important to note that String Theory is purely philosophical at present; it does not qualify as physics since it is, at present, not observable nor prove able. That is: String Theory is just that, a theory, which has yet to be proven (I’m in no way implying that this could not happen) or to manifest itself in reality in any observable way. Therefore it is somewhat of a reach to conclude that any String related theorem, tells us anything about order in the universe.
It is very typical for (often quite exotic) new frontiers in science to cross over into the realm of imagination and lead people to apply, as an example, Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle to anything, taking it completely out of context or misquoting it entirely. This has lead to people claiming that HUT implies that no system can be foolproof (because nothing can be known for certain, which is the perverted version of HUT) etc etc. Quite sad in some cases, in others quite damaging to individuals and our society as a whole. Science is not intrinsically evil (as some believe), nor does the pursuit of it make you evil and the laws of nature possess no evil intent, they “just” are. The application of science however can be evil, and has been so on many occasions. IMO, the (mis)use of science to promote mysticism (and thereof superstition, fear etc.) is one of the most evil deeds possible. Beware of what you are told, if what you hear is “irrational” (to your knowledge) or does in some way seem mystical chances are that the ones telling you know even less than you and are fixing to tell a load of bullshit, investigate critically and objectively before accepting anything.
Reality exists as an objective absolute—facts are facts, independent of man's feelings, wishes, hopes or fears.
— Ayn Rand, "Introducing Objectivism" The Objectivist Newsletter Vol. 1 No. 8 August, 1962 p. 35
I’m sorry if this was a bit of a rant, but I have spent the last many years of my life devoted to science (of course foremost the science of a beautiful toke) and the misapplication of science tends to properly piss me off!
