Coffeeshop Etiquette
Perhaps a silly question, but I haven't been to the Dam since 2001. Is it OK to sit at a table that is already occupied in a busy shop if you ask first? Or do you just plop down in any seat? Thanks.

I remember my first coffeeshop visit was to the Noon. It was crowded but I wanted to try the Blueberry so I asked if I could sit at this table. It was a table of very chatty young Americans and I thought to myself I just came all this way to sit with Americans?? Anyway, I took 2 hits, was high, got up and left.

amen. I love you uk folks, most of you are good people. But if you ask any Amsterdammer the people they most cross the street to avoid, it is tourists from the UK, male or female...DazedandConfusedinOR wrote:And some people like to talk shit on here because of the anonymity of the Internet. If someone talked shit like that to me in a coffeeshop he'd get laid out on the floor. Has nothing to do with being too sensitive. Have a little respect, that's all.
American may be overly friendly or loud, but we are generally good-natured.
The majority (and yes majority) of uk tourists you see in the rld are drunk, violent and ugly.....
