Sorry im late to the party, but this dude had it all figured out back on page 3. Without going into ancient issues, religious agendas, and American imperialism, it all comes down to access. Believe me, if Amsterdam was as cheap and accessible as Las Vegas is in America. Your Polite would need new training and more men to deal with American scumbags. Imagine our loser gangster types being able to afford a trip to Europe, getting drunk and looking for trouble. For the UK it is a weekend trip. Probably costs very little compared to a transatlantic flight. Point being, that it is mostly a more cultured, respectable, behaved type that travels abroad from the states. So, we have a unfair advantage in image diplomacy.
sam508 does make a legitimate point, as do you.
I think if Canada were to adopt similar cannabis legislation as The Netherlands, there would be some problems in the beginning. But true to form, most Americans will eventually become tired of the pop-culture-hyped-cool-factor and move on.
I don't think the Polite would need any additional training, this from having trained with them when I was in the Army. They can handle themselves just fine. They would however need many more, given that the US has a pop. of over 300 million (approximately 5 times greater than the UK and nearly half that of the European continent).
The UK may only be approximately 1hr away from Amsterdam, but what about the Germans, Belgians, and French? With the exception of France, the other two border The Netherlands. With shops forced to close along the Belgium border, I would say the Dutch have more of a problem with them than with the Brits.
As for cost, the typical scumbag (read Chav) may not be able to afford the trip, but everyday more are gaining access to resources which enables them to make it.
Here's hoping Canada legalizes cannabis, for Europe's sake. '' and ':o'
Peace.
Please correct me if I have miss-interpreted this.....You want us (Canada, with only 10% of the USA population) to legalize cannabis so that this mass of assholes can come here instead of going to Europe???
Sounds good.

Two etiquette question regarding blunts:
For the coffeeshops that have smoking rooms or would allow me to twist up a blunt, are there garbage cans anywhere to dump the tobacco out or would I be best served carrying plastic shopping bags around to rid myself of blunt guts?
Now for the shops that don't allow blunts inside and don't have a terrace, what's the rules in terms of chiefin' up in front of said shop?

I was kidding. The emoticons represent shock and awe, like how could I even suggest something like that, and, how the Canadians would probably feel if/when this were to happen.
Also, I didn't write that last part in raised font. Just saying...
Peace.

Good question, suppose just carry a bag incase there is no bin then chuck it in a bin whilst on your travels. Also doubt you would have a problem toking up outside the shop, i think you might have to stand away from blocking the door though.

I'd prefer to just smoke by myself but I wouldn't mind sharing a table or my joint/bong with a fellow stoner. I'm half English, half American. I've lived in London all my life basically. A few years in New Jersey. Americans are SO loud it's ridiculous. They are so obvious it's funny. with their huge gortex jackets LOL. However, the chavs are obvious as well and probably more dangerous to be honest. The type of people who go looking for trouble.. I avoid those type of people in London and Amsterdam. I'd rather hang out with some liberal philosophers and engage in politics or just get stoned and venture to the rld hehe

I loved reading everyones thoughts on US-UK-AMS folks.
It's like this...700k people in Amsterdam. 60-70m in the UK.
the US has a popluation over a quarter million deep.
What does that mean? We have a lot more dumbasses then you! Because our public school system is f***ed!
