Tattoo the Planet 2001 tour, featuring Slayer, Cradle of Filth, Biohazard and Superskin. The Point Depot, Dublin. Originally was supposed ot be Slayer, Pantera, Static-x and Cradle of Filth, but things went a bit cock-eyed after 9/11!

Re: First concert
The first of any significance I can remember is AC/DC at Bendigo Town Hall, Australia , January 1976, and having loved it and rocked it up big style, followed this in England with more AC/DC at Sheffield Top Rank and Bradford St Georges Hall during June 1976.
Had the pleasure of chatting to the 'late' Bon Scott at Sheffield, whilst the warm up act were on I wandered off for a drink and he was standing on his own by the steps having a glass of wine and weighing things up. Nice friendly man who was happy to talk.
Spoke to Bon again on the same steps drinking more wine almost 2 years later May '78 and he remembered me and was still as friendly. Couldn't believe it when he died in early 1980.
Always remember them as a great rocking 'pub' band who just went out there and did their own thing. Although they now fill big venues and have special effects and are famous they still play as a tight 'pub' band in their own style and that's why I still like 'em.
For those about to rock - we salute you !

Re: First concert
My first I will never forget. It was the annual bday party for a popular radio station called KSHE (they did them ever year). The channel was 94.7 so the concert was only 95 cents. JOurney, RUSH, David Essex and grinderswitch. I was 14. Many since then including alot mentioned in this thread. Good thread COED.

Re: First concert
EMF I was 13 and felt it was the best night of my life. Had a huge crush on James (vocals) and also Zac (bass) - I'm such a tart
Came home hoarse and with a bruised pelvis as I was crushed against the barriers at the front of the stage, eventually had to get pulled out of the crowd, subsequently fainted and spent the rest of the night with St. John's ambulance....but it was super
Still devastated Zac died so young

The first gig and although i've been too a lot of gigs since, this still remains the best i've been too. RHCP even released the DVD of it which i love watching to remind me of that day.

Re: First concert
V-jealous reading all these as I haven't seen many live acts.
1st was Blondie & INXS in 2001ish, the ex was a big Blondie fan.
Since then have only seen Lauren Hill and Corinne Bailey Rae.
Seriously need to invest in live gigs more.

My first (proper) gig was only a few years ago, Linkin Park at the O2 arena in London
.....Although the first artist I ever saw was Shakin Stevens when I was about 8...wasn't a proper gig though he only sang 2 songs

Nice avatar Skipper, did you manage to catch Roger's tours? I managed to see the Darkside of the Moon out at the Cynthia Woods Pavilion, a few years back: http://www.youtube.com/heligirl#p/u/33/39nslnFcZHQSkipper wrote:Texxas Jam 1984 (yes there's an extra X in Texas on purpose) - Houston Astrodome
