True, but they have made more of an impact. But I think the others had far more to say from a societal and political point of view. The Ramones are good for sing alongs ie. I wanna be Sedated. They just never did much for me.

I DON'T REALLY THINK PUNK WAS MEANT TO BE POLITICAL IN ESSENCE BUT THEY HAVE BEEN ON THE SIMPSONS WHICH NON OF THE OTHER BANDS HAVE..LOL..EITHER WAY IT ALL KICKS ASS.. Image

No I don't think punk was MEANT to be anything other than abandoning the cheesy rock music of the time and promoting free expression. But, in my humble opinion, why not turn that angst into something to get people motivated for something positive. [stepping off soapbox :D ]
