Chips and Mayo or Wok to Walk and then some pastry from a bakery or a Ben Jerrys tub from the shop on Damrak.

Apple Flaps (turnovers) from the bakery on Harlemmerstraat - down from Dampkring almost at the corner by the Singel, or another place in Haarlem a few blocks up from the train station.

Toasties and cheesecake from Amnesia coffeeshop and Puccini chocolates. Can't get enough Pear Loozas either. Dayum now I want one... good thing I can have as many as I want in 2 weeks. 8)

Halve rookwurst in a roll from Hema. Then trot over to cafe Winkel 43 on Noordermarkt for a slice of the best apple tart in Amsterdam. Lekker.

Last time I was there fella, I grabbed some Vlaamse Frites from the stall round the corner from De Kuil on Damrak and headed (ok, stumbled) back towards Centraal Sation and grabbed a very passable Shoarma to achieve that all-time classic - "kebab meat and chips"! :P :P :P

However, it must have been twenty odd years ago, after a serious night's drinking, me and two mates piled into a kebab shop in the city center, and proceed to order 3 kathlama, 3 doner meat in naan and 3 portions of chips...

EACH.

The look on the guys' face was priceless, but we did finish it all off. Amazing what 14 pints of Strongbow will make you do...

If I'm feeling healthy, don't joke, then it's Wok 2 Walk. If not, then bring on the meat. Mmmmm.... Meat. Such a satisfying word....

Sorry all you veggies out there - just got a little carried away there for a moment!
