Day 2 Wednesday

Post by Twitch »

I woke early as is my habit. Up around 0600. Wife and friends all sleeping. Make coffee and have another bowl of Panama mixed w/crystal. Listen to some jazz on earphones so as not to awaken friends. Think I could have had music blasting and they would not have woke up. It is a beautiful day sunny and bright. Have another bowl. Wife up at 0830. Friends finially start to show some signs of life around 1130. Time to hit the road. Go to BlueVelvet and buy gram of JellyHash, very nice, also a gm of white widow. Hang there for awhile and then go to PinkFloyd and purchase some Buddah's Sative. While at P.F. the budtender realised I was an American ( don't know how  ) and put a cd on from a blues musician from Seattle who played acoustic guitar, nice music. Went back to apt. and we all went on canalboat tour. After tour we did some tourist type shopping and then stopped at the Doors. Purchased 2gm. nycdiesel and gm. of SuperSkunk. It's already getting difficult to tell how different buds are affecting us as we are smoking so many different things. On the way back I purchased a cheap grinder/pollinator. Notwhere near as good as my spacecase, but did not want to take chance of donating it to customs on the way home. Back to apt. and party there for a few hours. Went back to Amnesia and hung out for awhile, talked w/ quite a few different people and shared some joints ( will never get used to smoking w/tobacco) w/ them and someTrainwreck I had bought and was smoking in bong. Very heavy body trip from Trainwreck ( name very appropriate )Wife came by around 2230 and we went for walk. Stopped at La Chocolata and got gm. of Chocolate Mist. Wandred around for some more then went back at crashed around mid. Have quite a few different purchases laying around on table that friends have purchased. Will have to investigate later. End of day2. HOT 'Dam

0600 is way to early to be getting out of bed when on holiday. I would have been more like your friends who got up at around 1130 (although the maids have usually kicked me out of my room by that time of day)

Nice bit of "customer service" by the tender in Pink Floyd. Maybe he hasn't had many Americans in recently and was wondering where you had all gone after 4/20.

Looks like you had quite a collection of bud going there and it was getting bigger.

Hope you managed to dispose of it in the appropraite way.

Glad you had a good time Twitch ...6 AM is really a nice time to be out and about in AMS (avoiding the Panhandlers can be a problem though) but the light is great for Pictures, and its kinda strange havingsomewhere like Rembrandt Plein to yourself .

it's all good Twitch, 6am might be a tad too early for me too but I'm damn sure if I did get up that early I too would be blazing up and getting into some Jazz on the earphones... sounds perfect to me mate.

Sounds like a great trip you had. Thanks for the reports so far.

On the subject of waking up early - On my previous trips I have made an effort to set my alarm for no later than 8am. It was great to have a morning smoke and walk before a coffee (generally in the Coin) when the streets are generally only busy with early morning stoners (like myself) or people going to work - a very unique and peaceful atmosphere. Only problem was that by 5pm I was in much need of a 1 or 2 hour sleep in order to freshen up for the night ahead!!!

The latest trip was different when I decided on setting my alarm for 10-11 am. I felt guilty everyday for missing any precious time in Amsterdam but was able to last throughout the day a little easier. Would prefer to get up early next time though.

Looking forward to your 3rd day Twitch.

sorry if it's drifting off topic a little but going back to the early wake up... I'm all for that the more I think of it... a late afternoon 5pm-ish nap would make it feel like you had two days in one when you went out that evening... Sounds good to me.

Yes, the good old get up early and kip in the afternoon versus the lie-in and stay out all day debate!

Both have their downsides. A kip in the afternoons is the business but I'm always worried about sleeping too long and missing most of the day, but on the other side of the coin, the moment I wake up I've gotta get out and about.

However, this time around I tried for the middle ground. Getting up and out before 10am and trying to stay out but it meant by midnight (1am at the latest) I was ready to call it a night.

You can tell I've gone through this time and time again.

nap (kip)

Post by Twitch »

Just remember that the original writter of this post ( that would be me) is 60 years old and takes a nap no matter where he is or what time he gets up. It has been my habit for many years to awaken early, cann't seem to break it, and as I have gotten older the nap just sort of crept in :o Back to original post, my wife took my journal to work by mistake so will continue reporting tommorow soooo...keep on tokin, or vapin or whatever

From a fellow early riser. There ain't no time to be wasted while you're in the beloved city of Amsterdam. For many of us it comes but once a year.

Great write up!

Sorry we missed ya's at Amnesia upon arrival. Reason being a clearly stoned detour on the train back from Haarlem. See the upcoming trip reports. Hopefully next year mi amigo... Sounds like a few other folks made it anyhow.

Toke ON!
