I've had another idea about "The Book"...

Anything else.

Don't think there's any doubt that you would be the first to sign it twice.

There you go, you will be going out of your way twice so I see no reason why you can't sign it twice although it might look better if someone has signed it after you signed the first time but before the second (Why not ask your wife to sign it as well as she is respsonsible for the first trip taking place?)

The book started as a mere suggestion but it has become a real hot topic among the forum now and the members care a lot what happens to it at all stages of it's life.

It is there to be filled so go out there and fill it.

(and have a great time both times)

i would say if you sign it more than once, keep the latte signings very small and concise (so as to not waste space).

i had thought that i would just add dates to my original signing, if i have the pleasure to sign "the book" more than once.

You took the words right out of my typing hands.

Exactly!

This way the book will last longer and hopefully be able to stay at it's "resting place".

All of you guys have good points. Even the one's about people who don't post very often. lol

Don't mean to put a negitive spin on "The Book", but I think it might take awhile to fill. If I'm not mistaken, "The Book" is at least 150 to 200 pages long and if 4 or 5 people sign 1 page, if might take a little while to fill.
I like the idea of mailing it around to different parts of the the world and everyone having a chance to read it and keep it, like The Lord Stanley Cup of the NHL, but I think the final resting place should be at Nes and start, "The Book II"
Wasn't the originally idea to see how many ACD Members would sign "The Book" . Not how many times you sign it? AzLaker 8)

Okay, the book started off as an egg then it changed into a pheotus but I think now there are people who are maybe (just maybe) treating it a little too seriously.

I go back to the point raised by Mazdog when I say that there aren't exactly many people who will go out there and actually sign the book.

For Christ's sake. If somebody is there twice and wants to sign it twice then let 'em.

No serious harm done is there :?:

... wwwhhhhoooooooo !!

Ok, now I'm speaking so listen up.

wtf is going on man... I'm cheesed that I've read some words that have lacked the usual charm and carisma this forum oozes with... especially when it's in a thread that I started and about a subject that I suggested.

Now, I have previously posted a message contain Clause #1 of "The Book" - "Rules and Conditions of use"...

I am going to produce a set of Clauses to complete the Rules and Conditions of use, once this is done I will post them on the Forum.

Too many cooks...

SO ... My Idea = My Book = My Rules = A HAPPY forum full of members who know what to do with regard to "The Book".

We'll discuss and vote on "The Book's" final resting place when the time comes. We'll have names put forward for who/where you would like poeple to vote for and obviously the person/place with the highest vote will be the owner of "The Book". In the event of a draw, votes will be cast for the drawee that you wish "The Book" to go to.

I hope that everybody finds what I have said to be suitable and I'm sure it will also define just how strongly people actually felt about "The Book"

I come in peace... but I'll 'ave NO fucking about while I'm in charge... man... 8)

End :!:

I certainly WILL go out of my way to sign the book next month ...have never been to NES , but it has gotten so much good buzz over the last year that we'd check it out in any case ...and the book idea is such a good one I think, that its a no brainer...Now, is the Book available for anyone to sign ,or strictly ACDers ? . Is it hidden away until you give DC the Vulcan salute ? -Or is it there for the world to see/read ?
There is a similar book at the Theehuis in Haarlem ,I found it buried under a stack of Magazines and Newspapers, thats really full of artwork, poems and messages in various languages, from whoever feels like entering something Much of it quite elaborate...

This is all kinda makin an easy thing, hard....

...but as far as we're concerned...

The book is beside the cash register.
Anybody that asks for it, will get handed it.
No need for a Vulcan salute.
Make your entry what you like.
Whatever size small, medium or large.

Only rule I can think of is: No more marker pens.

There's loads of pages, enough for multiple entries and perhaps when it's nearly full, it can be decided where it goes then. Which IMO will be well over a year away....so erm, relax?. 8)

OK, I just wondered how the Book was going?

And It seemed liek a good time to introduce "The Book" to some of our newer Members.

So, how's it filling up? And who was last to sign it?

And what was Rez's message in the first page?

Oh so many questions! :D
When the going gets weird, the weird get going!
