Who is the oldest stoner here?
I wonder how many older stoners there are here? I am sure that I'm not the oldest - just a young 59 (going on 35) who will be 60 in August.
And I wonder what the younger people here think about guys my age still enjoying a bit off puff. Maybe some of you view it as a bit sad, but I don't think many of you will. I have a responsible job in the finance industry here, have 2 grown up daughters who I helped through Uni, a grandson and granddaughter, and can think of nothing better than sitting in a coffeshop with some decent music going and watching the girls and the world go by. Mr President, I don't want to poison my liver with your alcohol. Neither do I do harder drugs. Why would I want to get speedy on amphetamine type substances and f**k up my life? Or drink too much of your alcohol and become a bloody nuisance?
In the 60's we thought we could change the world, but found out you can only change yourself. Yet still they tie us down with their outdated laws and views on the weed. Maybe its about time the younger people started to make a bit more noise and force through a few changes. You certainly get my support.
Will be in Amsterdam April 19 to April 26. and am looking forward to the meet at coffeshop 420 on the 20th. So look out for an older stoner, my user name here is davex4 and I will show you how to roll a proper joint! Stay free my peeps.

Will be 65 in a few months.
This might give you an idea of our age grouping around here.

Old School and Proud of It.
Probably not many old school stoners on this site. Most are in denial. '' ''
My next birthday (January) will be a big one as well, 50.
You were a teenager in the 60's, where the "eff" are your peers? '
' The same question can be asked of mine from the 70's. '
'
The oldest person I have smoked with was 82 years young. He passed away in 1998 at the age of 95. AFAIK, he smoked right up to the end.
Seems most who smoke when young see it as a fad and only a few see it as a way of life. Having children is probably the main reason why most stop, besides the obvious legal ramifications if caught (prison, loss of job, etc..).
I plan on smoking cannabis until I die or am hooked up to a ventilator, in which case I might as well be dead.
Peace.

Thanks Boner and Twitch for the happys...
Just came back from dinner with my family. Oh, how nice, presents, cards and a cake for me? How sweet! (as I think, "Now, how can I lose the kids to smoke a birthday joint?" My usual lame excuse, gotta dump the recycles, garbage, get milk at the store.....fill in the blank).

I feel young for the first time since joining this wondrous forum, im 44, got two kids, mortgage etc, but have so far steadfastedly refused to stop puffing despite the societal pressures, dont drink, tried to give up at the beginning of the year, but have instead got rid of tobacco instead and still wonder if I ought to 'grow up' at some stage...who knows if I will ever, just had a lung function test at my GP's at my request, and bizzarely discovered that despite smoking daily since early teens that I have above average lung function, which I find extraordinary....greetings to all you longer standing smokers and happy 'dammers, nice to hear how many of you have the higher age rating, good on yer....
p.s. my step mum and uncle still puff, they are both in their 70's, and they seem fine, its when they get pissed I worry

Thanks AZ! It was a "grate" birthday.
Davex4- didn't mean to hijack your thread with my birthday (hey, it was all about ME yesterday!!!
)
I feel never too old to rock 'n roll, definately too young to die!
Smoking is a way for me and my husband to take the edge off. Many of my friends still smoke. We are (mostly) 50ish, in decent physical shape, (a few of us could stand to lose some of the munchie weight
). Our jobs include CPA's, IT VP's, entrepenuers, teachers, sales people, business owners, artists. All very intelligent , educated people that still enjoy smoking marijuana. I am unemployed at the moment, but I go to the gym 4-5 days a week. I have no problem with vigorous exercise. Over thirty years of pot smoking has not affected my lungs. I smoke probably a little bit everyday (or evening, usually).
I like a good glass or 2 of wine on the weekends followed by a joint. Preferably with friends! That's my idea of a fun night. I don't think that's alot to ask for in life.
