As long as the weather cooperates, we're still leaving late tommorrow night and should be in Amsterdam by 9 or 10am Monday morning. The owner of the apartment we're staying at says we can stay until the 29th if we want. So we got our flight home changed from the 27th until the 29th.
All in all we only lose 1 day of our vaction.
Hopefully see everyone Monday.

If you never do, you'll never know.
English airspace is closed until at least 07:00 tomorrow morning. Belgium is closed until at least 09:00 (Netherlands is presumably similar). Unfortunately I think the only flights out of Scotland this evening will be westwards, not to Amsterdam.
As soon as I know our flight is officially cancelled I'll try to book a cross-channel ferry with the thought of driving to Amsterdam. Maybe we should all get together and charter a coach.
Next update from NATS is due at 20:30.
Apparently volcanologists are saying the eruption could go on for days, months or even years! How much trouble it causes us depends on the wind.

just listening to o'leary on sky news & he says they stopped services till monday because thats when the cloud is realistically gonna disperse & then they'l be clearing the backlog till thursday, i completely understand your frustrations guys & am hoping the wind picks up & clears it quick, + if your flights do operate get to the airport early because the airlines will purposefully let cues build up so that when check in closes they can put on the standby passengersdarkglobe wrote:Bad news people...Ryanair have cancelled all flights from Ireland to Holland,UK and Northern Europe until 1300 hrs Monday,19th April...![]()
