I watched a program about this ash cloud on National Geographic recently.. god, it's just terrible. Apparently the volcano next to the one erupting is a lot bigger and angrier...

Going by what's happened with that volcano in the past, the other one erupts not long after and if it does, the consequences will be catestrophic. No flights for months..
It's really awful for the people that live there - it looks like hell. But yes, I know this sounds really selfish but I will be seriously FUCKED OFF if this ruins my trips to Berlin, Amsterdam and Florida - I've been looking forward to these for chuffin ages!!!

It could go on a lot longer than that - the last time that Eyjafjallajökull erupted back in 1821, it went on for 2 years!
Fortunately, the airspace was a wee bit emptier back then, so we didn't really notice too much....

Surely we wont have a north easternly wind for two bloody years though?
P.S. Dave, how many times did you attempt to spell the name o' that volcano?

quoted from the link above ""However, the scale of the eruption will be much smaller than the Eyjafjoell eruption and I do not think it would have the same effect on air travel as Eyjafjoell did," she said."
Hmmm... I aint worried in the slightest. Worst comes to worst - we'll just drive there I hope
