Het Ballonnetje
Re: Het Ballonnetje
I rode past this shop many times but never went in, until today (after seeing their menu on here!)
I have to concur that the Amnesia and White Balloon are both fantastic deals. Very happy with price and quality.

Re: Het Ballonnetje
I used to love this shop but I feel that under the new ownership it had lost its charm somewhat. The first thing I noted was the pavement seating has gone, I can understand why this might have been done, but it was a great place to sit and people watch. Now as you enter they have built an airlock style counter, which takes up a lot of room in an already small cafe. So now you order the cannabis here rather than in the far corner.
The menu has changed also, a lot in fact, many of the old favourites remain but the strains at the top of the menu would look more at home on a Voyagers menu. I did not try them as I wanted to have a look at the Icehash, having previously enjoyed what used to be sold. The bio ice which I had seen on the menus page was not available but the Black Diamond Ice €18 per gram was so I took one of them.
When I then asked for some drinks the bud tender told us that they were now a members coffeeshop but as there were not many people there she gave us each a laminated tourist pass and let us in. There has been some redecoration of the main room but the character of the place has changed, gone have the locals sitting around chatting, older women popping in to get their supplies, no one sat reading the paper with a biffter. Ok we were only there for an hour one Sunday afternoon and I do not want to judge it to harshly but I came away feeling empty.
The hash was good, but not that much better than the previous offering to double the price!! I do like the clear clean high that isolator gives me, we even vaporised some with champagne haze, ummmmm. One of my friends found it tough to smoke in the joint though, complaining that it gave him instant dry mouth, I know what he means but come on, smoke it, it gets you wired!!
I am going to come back and try the New Ballonnetje again, hopefully I caught the place on an off day and it has not changed as much as I fear.

I have to admit I was surprised when she said this, maybe it's because there were four of us. Well she let us in anyway so it seemed a little pointless to me.

ok the little plastic card they gave me when I went in now makes some sense! That was my 1st visit the other month so all new here. The shop was quiet when I went in on a Sunday lunchtime as well. There were a couple of locals about reading the papers though.Spaldwickapeface wrote:I used to love this shop but I feel that under the new ownership it had lost its charm somewhat. Can't say that the black diamond ice was particularly memorable but the Amnesia was decent for the price. Not the best tasting but good effect.
How much did you produce?

This place has changed since my last visit. You now have to be buzzed into the smoking area and order weed first like club media. It makes sence they have done this as they get a lot of buy and flys. Once again their lemon haze was the best 10/10 all 4 of us brought some and I smoke a gram in 2 spliffs one after another it was sooo nice, full lemon flaver , deffo the best lemon in town , better than voyagers .
