If Amsterdam closed its coffeeshops, would you still go?
With Hirsh Ballin threatening a crackdown on the coffeeshop industry, it's a question that's bound to cross all our minds.
For me -- NO. I love the city and the happy, shiny people in it, but it's too costly an affair. US$2.5K including airfare and lodging. My friends in Cali should be expecting a phone call soon.

Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.

Dunno if TW posted as a reaction to Puffins posts, but the threat of closures will always lurk. Anyone who has been a regular visitor over the last decade or longer has seen the authorities squeeze a little tighter with regards to the c/s scene. To be fair, it's only a hypothetical question, one not beyond the realm of possibility in the future. Besides, it's the sort of question that brings out the many varied interests the city holds for this forums members, apart from the obvious, and it's nice to share.
