Trip report 23/3 - 26/3
Trip No. 9 and last trip for foreseable future!!!
Sorry it has taken so long but have been trying to get my memory card in my camera working again!!! After got back mysterious "error" report so unfortunately lost ALL Pics, Boo Hoo!!!
Anyway arrived early morning and had to eat as soon as we got off the plane so Burger King for some morning cardboard it was, Yuk!
Got on train to the Dam, when i arrived i almost cried as i had decided to quit weed after i got back and the sight, smell and nostalgia of my favourite city in the world nearly bought me to my knees. Thought that i would relish a bit of the Dam without being stoned first so walked through Jordaan area towards Leidesplein (to get apartment keys) and the weather aws absolutely gorgeous. When got to Leidesplein i had to keep my travel companion happy (my mum) and visit the Bulldog. (I know, I know, but she likes it there) and had a pre rolled polm joint. Jesus, how bad is the gange in England when you get shit faced off a spliff from the Bulldog?
We spent a mellow half an hour chatting to a local couple and had a laff at the "local loony", as we were informed who kept accosting unaware travellers with "hanky panky, yeah" very loudly. Ha ha. Welcome to Amsterdam, love it.

Hiya Deb, there are programs that you can use to get the pics back maybe... before you write the card off it may be worth trying some data recovery software.
You can use the free version here to see if the files are recoverable first.
http://www.recovermyfiles.com/
I have recently used this to recover a 250gb hard drive for a customer and a 2gb sandisk sd memory card from a digital camera.

Anyways, got to Book Amsterdam Apartments booking office and was informed that they don't deal with the apartment owners of the place we had originally booked and they were putting us in a different place, asked why they couldn't have told us that before we got there and they couldn't give me an answer!! Had originally booked a place in Jordaan but now we were by Rembrantplein, not best chuffed but decided that it would force me to try somewhere new to my usual haunts. So we dropped bags off had a hours kip as we had been up since 3am. Got up, popped to Albert heijn for some provisions, got back had sarnie then decided it was time to hit a coffe shop PROPER!!
Strolled around a little to acclimatise ourselves (me mam is useless at directions so it is left to me) and went past Barneys, doubled back went past again and on the 3rd pass we managed to make a left in through the door!!! What a palaver, ha ha.
Asked about Vanilla Kush, but after a little sniff decided to go for some Red Cherry Berry, 11 euro.
Sat in a booth at the back and proceeded to roll a fat one. Smoked it and it must have been good as my notes became goble-de-gook!!! (basically me and me mam having a play arguement in paper form!)
Me; Mum was a bitch
Mam; So was Deb
Me; Only cause mam was first
Mam; Get on with skinnin up, christ
Me; Bog off
And so on, you know.
Had second spliff and halfway through realised i had a serious wonk on, as in sitting diagnally, arse in the middle of 2 seats, head up against the wall. Ha ha, This gave me mam serious ammo to take the piss. (You wouldn't know that i had been a serious smoker for nearly 20 years)
Had a laff at some Bangra on the stereo as for some reason it sounded like they kept singing "Farty Ma" over and over, now this is quite appropriate because my mam is indeed the original Fart Ma!!! lol

Afetr a hour or so we decided it might be time to sort oursen's out and go elsewhere. Right, compose, off we go. On the stroll we entertained ourselves (and proberly anyone near us) with a little discussion the crescendoed into "Very, Berry, Good Bud, Bud) Yep i do think we might need help. Bejesus.
Oh give Red Cherry Berry 4/5
Wanted to go to Stix to try their Nepalise Temple Ball so in that direction we sauntered.
Got there after nearly falling in canal a couple of times and puchased NTB and White Widow. We were 2 of only 4 customers in there and it was just horrible!! Atmosphere was dead and the music was shite, feckin jazz!! (C'mon we're stoned not dead)
Skinned up, drank half our juice and wafted out into the night to smoke our WW spliffs...........................ended up at Bushdoctor where we were thoroughly entertained by some of the most spectacular testosterone fuelled male preening i have ever seen! (yep they were Italian) (This is not an insult but imo Italian men are the most sexually charged men on earth, ha ha)
The owner showed us some green hash he had, hhhhmmmm loverly. Was like plastecine in your hands and smelt like heaven on earth. When he burnt it it bubbled up like bubble wrap, wouldn't sell any to me though, reckoned it would be too strong for a "pretty little thing like me" - cheeky sod!!!!
Couldn't decide if i liked that place or not.
Oh we had a pre rolled super weed refer for 5 euro, 2/5.
Went back to the apartment where we promptly rolled a white widow spliif, had that, 3/5. Went in, ate, rolled NTB spliff, had that, 3.5/5, has chocomelk, rolled another half WW, half NTB, had that outside by the canal. We were then accosted by a couple of young local lads who were drinking fruit vodka and wanted to party with us. Wouldn't believe we were mum and daughter, kept trying to convince us we were lesbians (Urgh, not me mum!!!!) Finally shook them off after they regaled us with stories about one of them being in prison in Spain
and went in to bed.

DAY 2[/b]
Got up, had an arguement with the shower antil it finally realised i was always going to win as i wasn't stoned enough to give up!!! Finally managed to drag our sorry arses out and into the day, another glorious one. Went to a cafe foe Hausemitters (prob not spelt properly) Set us up right for the day.
went to Rookerij, as i love their hazelnut coffee's, purchased a pre rolled Jamaican Sweetness e4.50, 2/5. Just love the atmosphere here, always nice and chilled.
Walked over to Basjoes for the afternoon (9th trip and i am embarassed to admit it was the first time i've been to Basjoe's) i really felt at home here. James was in and my mum was amazed at his dreads,as was i, unfortunately he had no Bas special so he gave me something else and i went on his recomendation(sorry don't know what it was) it was a lovely clean smoke.
The place was ace, nice and chilled out, funky 70's style tunes and the tables were the perfect height to lean on from the booths.
After about a hour and 3 spliffs i was informed by me mam (very slowly and quietly) "This is why people take drugs, yeah!!!"
For some reason this nearly made me wet myself laughing.
I proceeded to knock over my bottle of coke and James was so stoned he didn't even look over! i went to get a cloth and he struggled to even reach round and get it and pass it to me, superb, i like to see a budtender enjoying his produce. ha ha ha.

Been following this thread for a while with delight--your mum sounds like a total nutter.
