I'm also planning on using an atm to get euros when I arrive. I'm considering to use PayPal for my atm withdrawls based on their transaction fees. How much does bank of america charge you? If you're from the U.S. and have a PayPal account, you can request a PayPal ATM/debit card for free and attach your bank account to the paypal account. Then you can withdraw funds from any atm worldwide from you bank account through your PayPal debit card. There charges seem low to me, I found it from a comparison chart of all the charges on various banks for atm withdrawls. It's a 1% transaction fee if PayPal doesn't do the currency exchange and 2.5% if PayPal has to do the currency exchange. I'm not sure on this part, if you withdraw funds from an ATM is it the atm that does the currency exchange or PayPal would have to?

Here's a link to PayPal's debit card fees and terms etc..

I've heard bad things about BOA so I don't do business there but, if you're getting charged $1-4 in total it doesn't sound too bad. I get charged more in ATM fees from strip clubs in the U.S. regardless of which bank I choose plus, even at any other ATM at any of my banks (unless I withdraw funds from an ATM by the bank) I get charged $2-$3 for withdrawl in the U.S. I don't know how much I would get charged outside the U.S. Some of those fees are also by the ATM you're withdrawing at, not all of those fees are associated with just your bank itself.
