Advice please.

Post by metal4mullets »

We've got two Tajikistani (supposedly "pure" indica...90%) plants bred by Reeferman going. They are both two full weeks past the published flowering time and I think ONE of them is ready to come down.

Unfortunately, I don't have an upclose pic but 80-85% of the trichs are cloudy with a smattering of clear bulbs throughout. What's confusing me is that it seems like only 65-75% of the flowers have dried! It's very odd.

Also, the main fan leaves just fully yellowed about 2-3 days ago. The buds seem to have stopped swelling...I think

Is this fairly common for a plant to go two full weeks or more past it's posted flowering time?

AND...don't get me started on the OTHER plant as it looks to be about another THREE WEEKS out! I'm fully convinced it was a mispicked bean as it's structure is almost completely different from it's sister. The main cola is long, the fan leaves are WAY too sativa-ish (long, skinny leaves), and it smells spicy! Ridiculous *shaking head*. Not sure I'm impressed with Reeferman's offerings so far. We'll have to see how the finished product turns out.

Anyway, I'd greatly appreciate your insight...

Oh, and sorry for being away for so long ;)

Nothing in nature is 100%, I think I may of mentioned that I personally believe most should go at least 1 week past the supposed flowering period so it isn't really that unusual, it isn't unusual for anything that isn't 100% indica to be more sativa as well.

I haven't tried anymore of my Reefermans Bubblegum yet but the 2 seeds I dropped never even germed - I doubt I'll bother with any of his genetics again myself.

Mmm...thanks, Bone. That's somewhat encouraging

I think I'll take her down tonight and use the other as a test mule for a longer flowering period. I actually wouldn't mind a bit of cerebral activity from this one so chopping her now may be a good idea anyway *shrug*.

It's just annoying because I picked this strain because it supposedly had a fast finishing time...which I kind of REQUIRED to be accurate and now it may cause some problems :?

Anyway, how have you been? I've been absent for too long, I'm afraid. It was nice to see that YOU replied so quickly :)

Hey, gixxer *high five* :D

You know me....I'm a bit impatient ;) She'll definitely come down tonight...white hairs and all *shrug*. I'll let the other one go longer and have a good comparison...hopefully.

The other problem is it's becoming too hot in the area. Eliminating one large girl from the room would probably help...as it's a bit cramped right now. We'll see I guess.

Can't help you on this question- but it's nice to see you back! (I don't think stoners have to apologize for flaking- it's kind of our prerogative.)

Peace,

Thanks, GM! *high five* :D TBH...I've missed speaking with the group. So, hopefully I'll have enough time to keep coming around on a regular basis again.

Alas, as I certainly am somewhat "flaky"...I left her up and have decided to bring her down in a few more days. I'm fairly confident that bud production has ceased (as they're both pushing ridiculous colas all over the place) but she's still too sparkly for my taste. Another good indication is the last few buds are ripening to the point where the branches just can no longer hold the weight. Multiple re-ties were required with these bitches ;)

As of now, all I have is this shitty cell pic:

And yes USBL, heat is becoming an issue with the Tajikistanis. Trying to keep them happy is tough.

Ugh...all these white flowers are bothering me. Seriously. I'm trimming and thinking to myself, "How the fuck are the trichs a good color but the hairs are still white!?".

It's....very frustrating. Please, someone tell me that having white flowers is okay so I can feel better.

White flowers are fine, go by the colour of the trikes.

Thank you, Bone. It just....doesn't feel right, ya know? :?

Maybe I'll grab a pic for reference...

The second girl is really....annoying me. Her main cola got a bit toasty and a couple of her leaves browned and curled. Which is sad. BUT, I'd say that about 50-60% of the flowers are still white whilst the lower colas (about 20 inches lower) are almost completely dried! THAT...makes no sense to me at all. How in the world could flowers at a higher elevation take longer to dry than lower ones? I suppose if flower production was that much more advanced towards the top and not the bottom...but...I don't know. Maybe it's just pushing a ton of flowers up there and not below? That sounds crazy to me.
