Day 1 …..April 19-20 …………………….No Whitey Commeth

My Girlfriend, JUDY and I leave Ft Lauderdale around 4 something on April 19,
We fly to Nashville for an hour layover….Finally on way….we have a very bumpy
Ride and only giving wine or beer…..we finally see land fall as the sun dawns over Europe…I feel my excitement starting too rise.

As we pull up to our hotel the Sofitel, we pass right by the new giant eyeball …I almost swallow my gum then I look to my left …OMG…the Grasshopper.. three doors down.
I’m in Hog Heaven even before I leave the cab.

We check in, run up to room, drop luggage, and run down the street about a block to
Homegrown Fantasy… where I buy the special…..White Widow / Cantaloupe Haze
4 grams for 20 euro…I’ll take 2 please…then the very nice Bud tender gave me a pack of long papers and a pack of filters.

We run back to room…make coffee and I have my first smoke…also find one of my favorites smokes. It’s about 1 pm and we need to get some chores like change money
Get tram pass, find 420, and buy post cards…back to room around three for more coffee…more smoking… our coats… and the mardi grais beads… now time to party

Out of hotel toward Central Station to the first cut thru KOLK, turn right follow to 420
….We arrive to find a back room full of people (about 25 ) They all appear to be watching TV…except no TV anywhere… so I ask if I’m at the right place….To which
AZ jumps up and says yes ….you must be….Ha almost slipped and told you my name…..
OOPS too late I already said my name in the beginning ….who cares ….anyway…
I start throwing the beads ala New Orleans….BlueMing …gives a shout out I want …
You guessed it ….blue beads.

I meet William the Bud tender who is one of the nicest … he said I could come back any time and get my picture taken behind the bud counter…..( Must have had a brain fart…
I never went back ) I see Jack Harrier on the menu, and after reading so many good reviews I buy 5 grams for 50 euros….I manage to get a long joint with a filter… is this what you’ll call Duchies… rolled and ready for the big count down…Yeah just like New Years Eve….Ten …Nine… EVERYONE…and I do mean everyone… BlueMing… Blueberry… Ole Hippe Dave… Bigbird… Otis… AZ Laker… mhd… DC… Zunki
Lemming…. Lafe….and some other channel lites that I don’t remember…. All spark up
At the crack of 4:20 Pm

We, Lemming, BlueMing, Lafe, AZ Laker, Zunki, DC …all leave in search of food some of need to eat…We stop at a pizza place on Damrik BlueMing said it was ok… we may try tomorrow… not hungry yet so will play my ear as to where eat. So we the girls find the Ness without any problem…and find those boys…..I really like the Ness…. It’s nice…with a large pool table in back room… and a long table along the wall that our group swooped down upon and set up camp…
Of course there is our very own DC….. worth going out of your way to meet…he’s warm and genuine…a great host even when he’s not on duty….Then there was Simon…got the feeling he’s honest… wont lead astray when recommending bud or hash. Ladies…he is cute too…DC too++….

OMG then DC brings out “ THE BOOK “ everybody signs….Then Lemming…..OMG
people Lemming is really one of the nicest, nicest people you’ll ever want to meet, so any way Lemming starts to take photos of “ The Book “ yes that’s my hand holding….
A special thank you to Rez “ Bookdaddy”… for coming up with a wonderful way to mark time and place for all to read… I can’t wait for 4/20/07 to see what’s been written inn

Ok back to the long story… I should have told you to print out and put into bathroom
For later…around 8 or 9 we start to crash after having been up since yesterday
So we walk around the Damrik to cut thru by 420 and walk by Wok to Wok
And this smell reminds us its time to eat… this place is great… wonderful for budget
Some of this and a little of that… around 7 euros… highly recommend…
Back at hotel room… we pop Top Chef a TV show into our DVD and pig out in sodo
Chinese and smoke… what a great start to a wonderful trip…..

Great report though bluelaru, looking forward to seeing everyone's messages in 'the book' myself for the first time - makes it far more interesting when you hear more of the story before that person enters their name!

You got to love Wok to Walk too

The 4/20 at 4:20 in 420 would be the best possible start to any trip. Going in there with everyone waiting and doing the countdown and then sparking up at "the bells"
