Glass Bong cleaning question please??

Post by Midzy »

Do you know the best household cleaner to use? I got some overpriced bongcleaner and it was crap (fairyliquid repacked I think) anyway I tried some oxy vanish stuff that I found in the kitchen (I think my GF uses it in the washer or dishwasher or summat) it got it spotless everywhere BUT it left a white film behind, It wiped away easy but of course there are those hard to reach places

its all ov like 25-$1 more here. i used 70 with some moretons rock salt the other day and the ash catcher just wasn't getting clean. i was shaking that thing like a yoohoo fiend that needed his fix too.

to be fair the resin stain was pretty thick. havent been taking bong hits much this or last year so had probably been 8-12 months since i cleaned it.

I have tried the rubbing alcohol & salt - found it was ok, but not great.

I've used a commercial product called 'orange chronic' that works really well, and cost wise, isn't too far off.

my $0.02

i wouldn't mind trying grunge off. but its like 10 bucks or more a bottle. alch and salt does the job fine for a total of like 4.50.

same here. the alcohol and salt did a great job of loosening the resin but I find to get it really clean, I have to directly clean the resin off with some kind of cleaning tool. sometimes you find those big pipecleaners which are good. I've also got a thing that came with cheap bong, its a twisted piece of wire with plastic bristles. kind of like a tiny toilet brush lol. after doing the salt/alcohol shake, I pour that into a bowl, then go to work with the brush, using the bowl to dip into and clean the resin off the brush.

So far, Ive used the Roor Cleaning soloution, Ico and Salt, and I have a bottle of that orange chronic shite ( got it free when I bought my new bong, aint used it yet, but I think its just Ico anyway).

Ico and Rock Salt is the shit for me. It leaves my glass super shiney.
I've found also, that if you do yer final rinse with cold water, it leaves the glass looking spectacular.
Endure

Ok, here's a twist. I have a favorite bong made from an Absolut vodka bottle. The s-shaped stem is made of brass and held in place with a rubber grommet. I've been using alcohol to clean the glass interior through soaking it overnight, but I don't want to use salt as it will cause the brass stem to oxidize.

I could remove the brass stem and the grommet but (i) I am lazy and (ii) it destroys the rubber grommet in the process. Meanwhile my stem is clogged with tar.

How would u go about cleaning this with a minimum of effort because...well, see reason (i) above.
Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.
